Chapter 32 - Run Like Rabbits

Zheng Gang's face twisted in rage.

"You little brat, you're courting death!"

Before the words had fully left his mouth, his massive fist—almost the size of a pot lid—was already flying toward Jiang Chen.

Zheng Shanshan gasped. Her face drained of color, and she instinctively shut her eyes tight, not daring to watch.

But what followed wasn't the crunch of bone or a painful scream from Jiang Chen.

Instead, a shriek rang out—miserable, sharp, and utterly pitiful, like a pig being slaughtered.

Shanshan trembled.

Something's off…

She opened her eyes hesitantly and was instantly stunned.

Zheng Gang was holding his arm and screaming like his soul had left his body. His face was contorted in agony, tears and sweat pouring down.

His arm dangled at a strange angle—obviously broken, and badly at that.

"Ahhh! My arm!" he cried, voice cracking.

He staggered back in shock and pain, then turned and shouted wildly at his lackeys, "What are you all staring at?! Go! Beat him!"

Snapped out of their stupor, his men roared and charged at Jiang Chen together.

But the next moment…

Thuds. Cracks. Screams.

Before anyone could even see how Jiang Chen moved, every single one of them was already lying on the ground—some clutching arms, some cradling legs, all groaning like wounded dogs.

It was over in seconds.

Fast. Brutal. Clean.

Zheng Gang was frozen in place. His face turned pale, then green, then white again.

He had kicked a steel wall.

Without a word, he spun around and fled, dragging his injured men along like limp sacks of potatoes.

They stumbled and tripped over each other in their panic, running faster than they ever had in their lives.

Watching the pathetic retreat, Jiang Chen snorted and muttered, "Tch. They run faster than rabbits."

Zheng Shanshan, still in shock, snuck a glance at Jiang Chen. Somehow… he didn't seem as annoying as before. In fact, he looked kind of… cool.

Her cheeks flushed slightly. Thinking back to how she'd misunderstood him earlier, she lowered her head awkwardly and whispered, "Thanks… for helping me just now."

She waited for a reply.

But none came.

After a long silence, curiosity overcame her. She looked up—only to find the alley empty.

Jiang Chen had vanished.

"Wha—he's gone already?"

She stomped her foot, cheeks puffed up in frustration.

"Ugh! That guy! Calls others rabbits but ran faster than one himself!"

She stood there alone, glaring down the alleyway, half-angry, half… impressed.
