Chapter 2 - Prolog Part 2

AGE MONTH 5 Location the Underworld, Gremory Territory: Gremory's Mansion, Outside of the Infirmary

In the fifth month, Rias was being born. Right now Laharl was sitting beside his cousins, Sirzechs and his wife, Grayfia. While uncle Zeoticus was inside the infirmary along with his mom, to help comfort aunt Venelana, as she gave birth. They prevented Laharl from going inside, believing he was still far too young to learn about such mature things, if only they knew the truth. He could wait patiently...if not for Sirzechs, nagging and bugging with useless spill. Trying to make conversation, and also try explain unasked questions on what happening...brah, actually told him that, the stork was bringing a new baby, like he did with him...ohh how much, Laharl wanted to beat him down. But he gave his word to Grayfia, to be a bit cordial with Sirzechs, while they wait.

He swears that he saw Grayfia smirk a bit. Ignoring Sirzechs rambling and attempts of bonding, with Rias being born much of the attention will finally shift away from him. And he can hunt in his dungeon again.

A couple months ago, he entered a easy/safe dungeon nearby the Belladonna Mansion. Through the backyard, and since he wasn't completely ready to delve deeply onto any dungeon, he just peak inside. Laharl was then transported to a green field, under a blue sky, and some small woods nearby. That's when he came face to face with a green hellhound. The same type of enemy from the Cross Edge game, it growled and snarled at him. Only for him to just blast a ball of purple surging electricity, from his hand, hitting and oblirating the hellhound in one hit.

After the smoke cleared, some small, red glowing orbs, floated in place. Thinking it most be the exp-drops that happens when a monster is slain. With a smile on his face, he got closer to the Red Exp, and they soared into him when he got a certain proximity to them. Once he absorbed these few Red Exp, he felt, slightly stronger. Clenching his small fist, as he felt his muscle slightly reforced and strengthen.

This made him smile, as just a bit of Red Exp made him this stronger. But as much as he want to adventure this "Field Dungeon", he needed some time to prepare, like getting a weapon and time. Cause since he was still a baby, despite being a tundler size, instead of a baby, thank to OG-Laharl physiology he already looked like a chibi version of himself. Being still a newborn, he needed sometime to prepare and get some eyes off him. So he turned and left the Field Dungeon.

Which returns to now. Since getting a bit stronger, after that he was stronger than before. And he been dealing with some random monsters of the Underworld, that came nearby his home. Now he was eager to fight more monsters, as he has take some experience using his Dark Bolt attack, he has yet to use other of his techniques, and abilities that he possesses. Plus with Rias soon to be born, he has a set marker on when in the timeline, he is on. He has around sixteen years, before the soon to be japanphile, moves to the main setting of Kuoh.

That's when uncle Zeoticus, burst out the pair of ornamental, gothic doors. Making everyone go quiet, and focus all their attention to Zeoticus. As a big smile, and happiness overflowed off of him, as he said cheery and excited tone, "It a girl!! It a girl!! Girl!! Girl!!"

This made Sirzechs and Grayfia stand up in excitement, and rush into the infirmary. Laharl, he sighed and got up from his chair, and went last inside to meet his new cousin...

Location the Gremory's Mansion, Inside of the Infirmary Just like his home's infirmary, these places looked exactly the same. A mainly white with some resemblance to the anime scenes on these treatment areas of these mansions. Laharl saw as all were gathered around aunt Venelana's bed, as he walked over to a empty chair to sit down. Cause he already knows that Rias was in the bundle on his aunt's hands. He only thought, "Let the spoiling of a princess begin..."

Just as he got comfortable, and was about to start waiting for the adults to get their fill of gushing over Rias. His cousin, Sirzechs, came over to him with a stupid smile on his face. As he asked him, "Hey Laharl-kun. Why are you over here? Doesn't you want to meet Rias?" So she was already named, and Sirzechs wanted to already force him to interact with the main heroine of DXD. Since he knew there wasn't any way to get out of it, Laharl just stood off his chair and followed Sirzechs, when he tried to grab his hand to guide him over to the others. He used his scarf to wrap around the idiot, and toss over his head, as a smashing and crashing sound was made behind him. Followed by a sound of several gasps, then a mad sounding Belladonna called to him, "Laharl!!" Sighing cause he knows that he is in trouble now.

But he couldn't help it. Sirzechs trying to baby him, and doing his stupid crap around him, just triggers him. And he must have instinctly flung the idiot and annoyance away from him. As his mom, grabbed his pointed long ear, and pulled it, making him owwing and pleading his mom to stop.

Belladonna, looked down at her beloved son and sighed. While she was soo proud that her son, showed amazing talent and unnatural maturity for a newborn. She couldn't understand why he always act this way with Sirzechs, as she watched her son flay his arms around. She smile and let him go, as he rubbed the ear that she'd pulled, Belladonna, she reached down and picked him up.

As Belladonna had her son in her hands, she turned to her sister holding her new niece. In a voice filled with soo much love, she said to Laharl, "Sweetie. Meet your new baby cousin. Rias." Laharl looked at the bundled wrapped baby girl, with her iconic red spiky hair, as she was sleeping soundly in the hands of aunt Venelana. Laharl, smirked and said, "Welcome to the world Rias." making everyone smile believing that they'll bond deeply, as they grew up...if only they know.

AGE MONTH 6-7 Location the Bael Territory: Belladonna's Mansion

Another month passed since Rias was born...and it's been hell. Laharl expected that his family would be soo focused on gushing on Rias, that eyes will be swayed away from him. Instead, his mom and aunt insisted that Laharl spend time with baby Rias. Probably thinking that spending time with someone close to his actual age, would do him some good. Instead it found it annoying. He was an adult in the body of newborn with a toddler physique, that can talk, walk, and think like a kid. So all he did on his sixth month, was entertain the clinging Rias.

Using his scarf to play with her or used his magic to make a lightshow for her. Every "playdate" he'd do this for her, while his mom, aunt, and uncle watched them. Gushing on their interactions, while he overheard his uncle mention he was impressed with his maturity, power, growth, and control over his body, and magic. Even commenting that it was almost supernatural, which made Laharl laugh, they are devils, anything unnatural should be consider natural for them. Regardless that was all that happened on his sixth month.

The month after he was finally freed from the constant playdates. As aunt and uncle wanted to spend time with Rias, themselves. Laharl thanked them mentally, as he was finally able to have some freedom to himself. Since he never did or intended to hide his power, intellect, and maturity, doing things for himself like eating, drinking, and going to bathroom, cause he wasn't like those beta protags that hide everything, and experience embarrassment of having their dignity crushed as their babied. As he refused to wear or use diapers, or experience diaper changes, hence he never hide what he was able to do. And thanks to that, the servents were more cordial, and respectful to him like a child, instead of a baby...which unfortunately he was still is until age 3, when he'll be considered an official toddler in age.

With his freedom, he walked around his mansion home without constant watching. And he found a suit of armor with a plain longsword. Stretching his scarf he snatched the basic longsword with a copper cross-guard, and a black wrapped handle. Inspecting it, and performing some test swing a couple of times, he was pleased as it serve his purposes until he could get a proper sword for himself. Using his scarf to wrap around the sword, and place it away like in the game and anime Laharl has been able to use his scarf, as a inventory. Smirking he could finally traverse further into the Field Dungeon.

Location the Backyard of the Mansion Laharl made his way to the backyard of his home, using his Hunter's Exp system to lead him back to the entrance of the Field Dungeon. Which luckily was in between some bushes at the edge of the yard, reaching out his right arm, as his scarf unraveled and produced his longsword into his grasp. He placed the blade over his shoulder, and with a excited smirk with his upper fang glimming, he took a step forward through the bushes, and came out the same field that he was a while back.

Location Field Dungeon Area 1 Laharl was in the green grassy open fields, now that he has a moment to inspect the dungeon properly, he could recognize it as the starting area of Cross Edge game...as his placed his left index finger onto his lips, he wondered that his future dungeons would be based of Makai games and associated games. Before he could think further, he heard growling. Turning his head over his shoulder, he saw a couple of green hellhounds, and said, "Whatever. Regardless...(turning around and taking the fighting stance that Laharl usually take in battle)...I'm gonna have my fun." The two hellhounds growled, and got into attack position, but Laharl struck first. Using the most basic and first sword skill that any Disgaea sword user learns. With a flash Laharl rush forward at the right hellhound, dealing a deadly slash across the head, beheading it. This is the Blade Rush technique, and it worked like a charm.

As the first hellhound perished, the other one was confused, and Laharl struck with a heavy downward slash, quickly taking out the other hellhound. As they release Red Exp, that Laharl quickly absorb, feeling a bit stronger, he'll guess that he is 1% stronger physically before. So each hellhound gave him 0.5% of physical boost from kill, so killing around 197 to be 100% stronger than his based form...or he could be totally wrong. Now he regretted not having wished for this system to be somewhat sentient to help him. Ohh well, placing his sword over his right shoulder, he keep on wandering and hunting in this dungeon area.

After a couple hours all Laharl hunted was hellhounds, it's been fun. Around twenty plus have fallen to his sword, using Blade Rush to close the gap at times and if he couldn't he use his Dark Bolt to attack from afar. Collecting all the Red Exp, made him some much stronger, but he notice it was entirely strength based. His strength and stamina have most definitely improved, and by luck when he took down a trio of hellhound sometime ago, he discovered Blue Exp. Blue Exp, improved his speed, reaction, and dexterity. Learning this as a hellhound snuck behind him, and when he heard it make a sound he turned around and slashed it a fraction of moment faster than usual.

So for now he knows that red meant strength, and blue meant speed. He wondered how many exp drops are in these dungeons, but he couldn't waste more time. He has been missing for a whole, he's sure that his mother must be worried, any more time away and she'll summon the Bael army. So putting away his longsword into storage space, and turning his scarf into a set of large demonic wings, he took off into the air and followed the arrow-marker leading to the entrance/exit.

When he returned home...it was chaos, as all the servents were scrambling around, calling out to him. Yeah he knew he'd fucked up. And the scolding and punishment that await him was inescapable. So like a man...kid...a true devil, he'll face head on.

To recap what happened next, just as Laharl predicted his mom, Belladonna, was looking for him a hour ago. And since not only did he not respond, he didn't appear anywhere in the mansion, for another hour. To say that his mom was worried sick was an understatement. He was scolding for an hour, then she demanded an explanation on where he wad, Laharl answered honestly, "I was hunting. Fighting and taking down some hellhounds." even produced a pile of hounds to prove his word. This...had a negative affect, while she was proud Laharl was this strong despite his age, she scold him for an hour more on his reckless actions. After grounding him for a week, and also telling him that all the money gain from his hunt would be transfered to a fund under his name, he swore he saw a proud smile on his mom's beautiful face, as he left to his room.

After the week, Laharl would announce when he'll be out for there on. And made sure to only be gone for an hour the most...as he learn that no force or power can help you face, an angry and worried mother, that guilt trips you. For the next month he'd balanced on hunting, and regretfully doing early education, since something of him proving more mature and smarter than a nearly one year old, should be capable of would eventually come to bite him in the ass...
