Jimmy felt like crying but had no tears!
In the end, after Karen and her mother persuaded him, Karen's father was finally pulled away. Jimmy, still enduring the weakness and soreness all over his body, slowly started putting on his clothes — a suit he had bought in this world.
A while later, Jimmy carefully opened the door, walked out of Karen's room, and entered the living room.
In the living room, Karen's mother was questioning Karen about Jimmy's background, but Karen stayed silent while her father sat there, still fuming. It wasn't until Jimmy, dressed in his suit, appeared that the awkward silence in the room was finally broken.
"Oh!" When Karen's mother saw Jimmy in the suit, she immediately gave him a mental score of 50 points. If not for this morning's incident, Jimmy could have scored at least 80 (and 90 would be considered passing!).
"Uncle, Auntie, hello! My name is Jimmy. I'm an international student from Huaxia and in the same class as Karen," Jimmy said softly as he sat down in front of Karen's father.
"Hmph!" Karen's father snorted coldly. "Kid, I don't care who you are or what your background is. Since you've touched my daughter, you must take responsibility!"
Hearing this, Jimmy felt helpless. He really hadn't "touched" Karen, but how could he possibly explain it? After all, a half-naked man found in a girl's room early in the morning — anyone would misunderstand!
Jimmy sighed and quietly said, "…I will take responsibility! As long as… as long as you don't make things difficult for Karen!" Hearing this, Karen's father got even angrier. "Take responsibility! How?! You know my daughter is only seventeen!" he roared.
"I'm only eighteen…" Jimmy mumbled.
"What?!" Karen's father glared at him.
"…I will marry Karen!" Jimmy quickly said.
"You…"
"Alright, old man, leave this to me!" Karen's mother quickly interrupted, smiling as she walked up to Jimmy and began speaking to him softly.
She basically explained that Jimmy and Karen were still young, and though they might be open-minded, having a child was still a huge burden, etc.
"Wait! Auntie, do you mean…?" Jimmy, who was already dizzy from all this, hurriedly asked.
Karen's mother sighed. "Sigh! I know you kids are in your rebellious phase. You won't listen to anything I say now. But I still want to tell you, a child is a heavy burden. You'll have to work in the future, and you won't have time to take care of a baby!"
Jimmy forced a bitter smile. It seemed he had no choice but to tell the truth now.
"Sigh, Auntie, don't worry! There's really nothing between me and Karen like that! She doesn't have a child — she just said that to stop her father from hitting me. Besides, I'll be leaving for my homeland in about ten days! Who knows what will happen after that," Jimmy said with a helpless smile.
"What! Nothing happened? But this morning I saw you—" Karen's mother looked at Jimmy with shock, as if to say, Are you… not capable?
"Uh, we're just dating. Last night, I was attacked and passed out. Karen rescued me!" Jimmy said helplessly.
Karen's mother looked even more surprised. "Really?!"
"Really!" Jimmy nodded firmly.
Karen's mother then pulled Karen's father aside to discuss in hushed voices.
At that moment, Karen walked up to Jimmy and asked, "What did you say?"
Looking at the frowning girl in front of him, Jimmy gave a bitter smile and said, "I told them everything."
"What!" Karen was stunned.
"You promised me…" Karen questioned Jimmy.
"Yes," Jimmy nodded. "But having children is too far in the future. So I told your mom that we're just dating right now."
Hearing this, Karen finally let out a sigh of relief.
"Ahem!" Karen's mother cleared her throat and then said, "We won't interfere. You two can continue to date freely!"
"Yay! Thank you so much!" Karen cheered loudly in excitement.
Meanwhile, Jimmy could only smile wryly. He had already told Karen's mother that he would leave at the end of this month. It seemed he only had thirteen days left.
On the street, Jimmy looked at Karen, who was happily hugging his arm. He couldn't help but become a little immersed in this warm tenderness. It made him think — maybe living as an ordinary person wouldn't be so bad.
"Jimmy! What do you think about this squid?" Karen asked while they were shopping in the market. Jimmy smiled and said, "It's great! I like squid too!"
"Hehe!" Karen smiled and placed the squid into the basket.
Then, they happily bought some vegetables and groceries, returning together to Karen's house. Although Karen's parents had agreed to let them date, it was actually part of a deal with Jimmy. Once thirteen days passed, Jimmy would leave this world forever.
What he would leave Karen with was just a beautiful memory — time would eventually fade everything away.
After dinner with Karen's family, Jimmy planned to leave because he still wanted to check on Peter. But even though he wanted to leave, Karen's mother strongly insisted that he stay. Seeing Karen's reluctant expression, Jimmy had no choice but to agree to stay overnight in the guest room.
"Sigh!" In the simple guest room, Jimmy sighed helplessly.
At that moment, Karen entered without knocking and sat down next to him.
"What's wrong? You're not used to it?" Karen asked curiously.
"No. I just feel a bit reluctant. I'll be leaving in just over ten days," Jimmy said with a bitter smile.
"…Have you ever thought about staying?" Karen lowered her head and asked softly.
Jimmy shook his head. "Of course I've thought about it! But I can't. I'm a warrior," he said quietly while looking at his own hands.
After a moment of silence between them, Jimmy was the first to speak.
"You should go back now, or your parents will worry and misunderstand."
"Hmph, I'm not worried!" Karen pouted and snorted stubbornly.
Even though she said that, after a while, she gave Jimmy a goodnight kiss and left his room. Jimmy sighed helplessly and lay down on the bed. Right now, he didn't want to think about anything else — he only wanted to spend these last few days quietly with Karen.
But unfortunately, things don't always go as one wishes...
In a dark alley, a figure was running frantically, constantly looking back as if something terrifying was chasing him…
