Chapter 25 - ch.25 The Phantom Driver

One Week Later – Late Night, Kael Household

Midnight.

Everyone asleep.

Except Aeron.

Every night, he'd vanish. Every morning, he'd return before dawn — silent, calm, satisfied. He never said where he went. Not to Ayaka. Not to his father. Not even to Yume, who often waited for his messages.

Only Himari knew.

And she kept his secret.

He was racing.

Drifting through mountain roads, speed-blitzing past radar points. The black hypercar became a myth in the surrounding regions — "The Phantom on Lucent Ridge," some began calling it.

In a world where men rarely even walked alone, a man dominating the road was a scandal waiting to happen.

Kael Residence – Ayaka's Room

Ayaka sat up, arms crossed.

"He's not sleeping next door again…"

She'd been watching. Listening. He always came home after midnight. Always went out just after ten.

Her obsession, buried beneath politeness, was boiling.

> "Where is he going? What is he doing? Who is he with?"

Next Morning – Living Room

Ayaka and Mirei sat on opposite couches — unplanned, but not accidental.

Both glared at Himari.

"…You know where he's going," Mirei said flatly.

"I do."

"Then tell us."

Himari leaned back, sipping tea.

"He's driving. Alone. It's therapy. And it's his business."

"Driving?" Ayaka repeated, eyes wide. "But men—!"

"I taught him," Himari interrupted. "And he's already better than most racers I've seen."

Mirei leaned forward. "So he's not just fast with emotions… he's fast with everything."

Ayaka stood, whispering, "This isn't fair."

"Nothing about Aeron ever was," Himari said quietly. "But that's what makes him dangerous."

Side Scene – Lucent Corp Private Office

Later that day, Himari pulled Aeron aside.

"We're starting your business lessons next week."

"…Why?"

"Because whether you want to lead this world or run from it, you'll need power. And power only listens to those who understand it."

Aeron blinked.

"…Fine."

A smirk tugged at Himari's lips.

> "And just like that, the boy who said he didn't care about anything… Took his first step into a world that bows to only one thing—control."
