O'Neil—Umbra is in his suit of darkness. Walking into a room. in the centre, There's a throne-like seat. The bald muscular man sitting there. Two more men to his left and right side looking menacingly.
The man sitting on the throne laughs "if it isn't my winner!
He looks to the two men to his side "Guys if it wasn't for this one here I wouldn't of been able get the materials to get this bad boy made"
He brightened the light in the room a bit more making everything more visible and revealed a device trapped around his torso. In the middle is the synthetic light from Arc
"With this I can now generate my own light instead of just controlling existing light…wanna see?"
He shows an example of the power and completely destroys the roof in one blow
Umbra is shocked by the power of the device
"What the"
"It's called 'Solaris Ray'…what do you think of it? Wouldn't of been able to make this without you" Solaris says laughing , while looking at Umbra
"I didn't know he would combine the different parts to create this! His firepower has improved immensely!" Umbra mutters to himself
Umbra notices and thinks to himself
"But for some reason it feels less powerful then Kaleb's 'Absolute Light' form'
"I hope you bring some good news on the last job I sent you on. Otherwise I might have to test the new toy on you" Solaris laughs while adjusting his new device
All of his henchmen join and start laughing too. Maybe because it was funny. Maybe it's fear.
"I do have good news, I thought that if I capture him you can kill him directly. Perfect timing seeing as you now have your new weapon" Umbra says emotionlessly
Solaris laughs violently "this is why I like you. Umbra you never fail to amuse me! Well where is this sorry fellow"
"He is in the darkness right now, I'll fetch him for you!" Umbra says
He opens his arms showing the inside of his cloak of darkness and places his hand inside…suddenly Shift jumps out of the darkness , generating two discs out of his imagination.
"Surprise!!" He shouts
Shift throws them both discs curving them around the throne , hitting the two henchmen behind. Knocking them out cold.
Suddenly the door behind them flew open… Two more henchmen come barging through.
Shift quickly creates two more portals catching the discs making them appear behind him.
The two discs fly with even more speed towards the two, sending them both flying back outside the door they came through , knocking them out cold.
"It seems your friends are sleeping on the job!"Shift says mocking him
"…I'd give customer service a 0 out of 10"
Umbra thinks to himself
"Damn, seeing him in action on this end is kinda cool! Reminds me of back then! What am I saying! I can't let him know that"
Solaris confused, looks to Umbra and says
"What's this! Umbra, how dare you! You must be forgetting what happened to your friend" he says, grasping at straws. Trying to play with his emotions
Umbra gets visually angry by clenching his fists. Solaris notices
Solaris continues "And just remember I'm much stronger and faster now I could kill you instantly…Like this"
The machine instantly charges up pure light and fires it off towards Umbra
'BOOM'
The smoke begins to clear. Umbra has his hand raised in front of him…A shield of darkness protecting him
"Did it actually work? , Gotta give Jamie his props" He thinks to himself.
"W-what! What is this! , there's no way you could block that! You was scared of this power. What happened?" Solaris asked , overwhelmed
Umbra starts walking slowly towards him as the beam of light is getting eaten by the darkness. His darkness grows in size.
"You see! I was scared of your power because of what you did to my friend. I subconsciously limited my power due to fear but, some good friends of mine helped set me free"
"ENOUGH!!" Solaris roars angrily
He begins overloading the Solaris Ray with more light. Overwhelming it. The building explodes causing Shift to teleport out up into the sky and creates a footing to stand on and Umbra managed to also escape and meets up with Shift in the air using his darkness to fly.
"You think he was stupid enough to crush himself?" Umbra asks
"Hopefully" Shift replies
Suddenly in the rubble of the building, a big light beam explodes. Out the rubble man appears. Made purely of light with the Solaris Ray red hot from the intensity of the light. The rubble melting like the sun is on Earth.
Shift looks at Umbra "You just had to go and jinx it"
Umbra chuckles nervously
Solaris's heat intensifies. Blowing the heat outwards
"Ahh this doesn't look good! I can feel the heat from here!" Kaleb says
"You don't say!" Umbra replies sarcastically
Jamie shouts through the comms "GUYS! This isn't good! His energy keeps growing! If it gets any hotter it can start creating natural disasters everywhere!…You guys need to cool him down or absorb the light energy somehow!"
"That's it," Shift says!
"I will teleport him high into the sky far away from anything and you can use your power of darkness to absorb the light source completely" Shift says hopeful
"Theoretically it could work! Do you think you're up for it?" Jamie asks
"There's only one way to find out…but how are we gonna do that?"
Shift asks
Suddenly a shockwave could be heard from the distance , it's getting louder as it approaches Shift rapidly.
"Well it looks like his on the way right now so I'll just create a portal and-" Shift says
However, before he could finish his sentence and create the portal. Solaris moves past Shift at light speed, punching Umbra's in the face.
"Well damn…that was fast! I guess I gotta go the same speed" he says as he goes absolute light mode
Using rapid portal jumping he tries to catch up to Umbra and Solaris.
They are flying and fighting in the air. Umbra kicks him away creating distance while pulling out two swords made of darkness from his cloak.
Solaris charges up several balls of light around himself and throws them at Umbra rapidly in a craze
Umbra easily cuts them up with in half however Solaris hid a smaller but powerful ball behind another , obstructing Umbra's view…suddenly a blue and pinkish portal appears swallowing the ball of energy before it hit Umbra.
The portal opens again. This time shooting the ball of energy back at Solaris, who is caught off guard hitting him in the back. It creates an explosion as it connects, Shift teleports next to Umbra and mockingly says
"You missed me?…He took you really far. Took me a while to find you"
Umbra, focused on the battle replies "Shut up and get ready! Try to actually keep up this time"
"Oh , just like old times aye!" Shift says as they both get ready!
Shift generates his bo staff and Umbra gets ready with his two swords of darkness.
Solaris charges up and creates several mini balls of energy nearly as hot as the sun.
"You cocky brats…Take this!" he says frustrated
He launches all the balls of hot energy towards them , Shift and Umbra both dash towards them with no fear in sight. Shift teleports rapidly hitting several of the balls with his bo staff and Umbra flies around at them slicing the rest.
They make it through and both at the same time they strike! Sending him flying backwards further through the sky.
"We'll use the same plan as earlier." Shift says
Worried and doubtful Umbra asks "Do you really think I got what it takes?"
"You got this! If anyone can do this it's you bro!" Shift says assuring him with his fist out
They bump fists.
"Alright. Thanks bro" Umbra says before he flies away at a fast speed
Jamie's voice comes through
"Shift! With how hot he is you would have to send him out of earth and into space!
"Space?! I'm not even sure if Umbra and I would be able to breathe up there!…Shit, I'll have to test my luck as he is on the way" Shift says
Shift opens a portal and as soon as it forms Umbra and Solaris come flying through the portal. Shift hastily goes through himself , teleporting to Umbra.
They both pause. They both witness space and how beautiful the Earth is for the first time.
They take it all in for a second before reality kicks in. They panic not being able to breathe…suddenly they realise they can both breathe normally
"Oh we can breathe?" Shift asks
"You didn't know that when you sent us to space!! Are you serious"
Umbra says annoyed
"Jamie said it was the only way! And I wasn't expecting you to go flying through with him! But anyways how can you breathe" Shift asks
Umbra replies "I'm not sure, maybe it's got something to do with the mask I found. What about you"
"I sorta just imagined it and it worked…" Shift mentions
"You imagined it? What the hell?" Umbra says with his palm on his forehead
Suddenly Solaris starts shouting and moving violently like he is possessed. The heat keeps intensifying, sending out solar flare like winds
Shift notices "It looks like he is about to explode! Quickly , Umbra you need to start absorbing the light"
"I know, I know '" Umbra says moving with haste
He quickly shoots out a beam of darkness from his hands as it encases Solaris. Slowly absorbing the light
Through the comms , Jamie warns them.
"Shift, the energy levels are reaching critical if it explodes the whole of earth will be in danger…at this rate it could explodes any second now!"
"Not on my watch! Even if it means using all of my energy I'll protect the earth!" Shift shouts out loud
"Umbra, I'll handle the protection of Earth! You just focus on absorbing the power" Shift shouts over to Umbra while making a portal
Shift teleports to a new location. Closer to the earth.
Shift begins to close his eyes. Thinking…Imagining.
"I want to protect the earth! I will create a protective barrier around it! , imagine it , come on , imagine it!" Shift says to himself faithfully
Suddenly a blue and pinkish light appears. A barrier started to grow around the earth! Encasing it completely.
"One protective barrier around the earth is set!" Shift says proudly , suddenly for a split second he feels weak but it fades just as quick.
"Woah, that took a lot more out of me than I thought! I wonder how he is doing"
Umbra is still absorbing the power but is struggling. It's like it's fighting back.
"Argh, how powerful! If it continues like this then it'll definitely explode and affect earth! I need to figure something out" Umbra thinks to himself.
Solaris's power starts to crack , piercing through Umbras darkness. The power level is reaching a critical point as it's getting ready to explode…
"Oh no you don't! Even after the stuff I've done…they still believed in me and for that I will fight to atone and that starts NOW!" Umbra shouts passionately.
Suddenly his cloak glows large behind him and flies towards the exploding man completely covering him. Like being crunched by a monster's jaw. Sending him into the world of complete blackness.
"It should be safe for him to release all that energy in here" Umbra says while inside a world of nothing. As if it darkness that stretches to infinity.
Solaris explodes releasing all that built up light energy safely far away from Earth, inside of the black dimension. Umbra's cloak returns back to normal.
Solaris , who is now unconscious, is also back to normal wrapped up in a tendril made of darkness from Umbra's cloak!
Not long after , Shift teleports to Umbra and says
"You did it!! I knew you had it in you. You're a hero now just like we always wanted"
"Yeah we did! But as for the hero part not yet…I'm not the hero. I always wanted to be but I will get there" Umbra says softly but firm.
"Well I'd say you're definitely on the right path to do so" Shift says as they fist bump each other before heading back to Earth.
