Chapter 9 - Unbothered Kellys

"O-oh my goodness… I wasn't hallucinating or anything, right?! I just saw a human, features almost exactly like us, give some announcement, right?! I would've believed it's a worldwide prank made by some people if not those antennas! Maybe there are costumes?"

Yelena couldn't stop herself from yelling while her parents remained stunned, still trying to grasp what had happened, something the rest of the world was still struggling to comprehend.

Only Case could hear it, that's why he also heard what came next from Yelena's mouth.

"No, no! It's impossible that it's a costume! Something as handsome as that will never be a costume! I couldn't even see a tinge of makeup on that face. Damn, a handsome alien! And here I thought they were fuglies!"

Case couldn't help but put his attention on Yelena and gave her a weird look, which his sister responded to with another shout.

"Hey, I'm not wrong!"

It baffled Case that his sister was merely admiring Auralex's looks, so much so that he could only react with a facepalm.

He then stood up from his seat and approached his parents, who were sitting side by side.

Looking at their reaction as if they couldn't believe what they just witnessed, both Rose and Edwards seemed to be having trouble accepting the reality they were facing.

That seemed to be the moment until Edwards made a weird smile and said.

"I guess we're being invaded by aliens now? Hahaha…"

Case couldn't help but recall the time he'd been scared out of his mind, and it was Edwards who had approached him back then, saying those exact words to calm him down.

Although the situations were different, Case couldn't ignore the stark similarity in Edwards' tone, just as stunned now as he was back then.

"A-are we going to be okay?"

Rose's voice gradually faded as she spoke, leaving Edwards at a loss for words.

He couldn't comfort her, not when he was just as unsure.

But Case was there.

"We will be. Don't worry,"

All of his family members looked at him before Case continued.

"Trust me on this. You guys will be okay,"

The announcement wasn't limited to one place. It affected the world, and it threw everything into absolute turmoil.

Media outlets, news sources, and even the usually chill people, now anything but that, were demanding answers directly from the government, certain that officials owed the public an explanation.

But even the government had no idea what had just happened, as they were just as confused and desperate for answers as everyone else.

It was a threat that wasn't inside Earth after all.

Although they wanted to deny it, they are clearly aware that the whole world was facing a crisis, something that the world had never seen before.

To stay alive, they had to play by Auralex's rules and unravel what Outer truly was.

While all of that was happening, there was one home that was pretty relaxed amidst the chaos happening all around their street and city.

Though nothing ever disturbed them since their home isn't considered worthy of attention or worthy to be bothered, something that lies just in the middle of the two.

It was no other than the Kellys Family.

Just because the whole world was in turmoil doesn't mean they needed to follow them.

Case's first plan regarding the Visit was to wait it out and give the government some time to think about its actions, which is also what has happened in the past.

And what better way to wait it out than without having to worry about food for the days ahead?

"Woah, the business, which is sadly not going to happen now, helped us a lot, Case. Look at all the food we stored. This could last us for a few years if properly portioned." Edwards spoke as he grabbed a snack from the cabinet.

Case watched his father eating the bar of chocolate without any problems before finishing it in just a minute.

Then, he approached his wife to prepare the meal for today.

Alone with the supplies, Case took one last look at what they had before going upstairs to scan social media, searching for any hint of a government response or swift action from them.

Three days had already passed since the Visit happened, but no official news had yet been delivered to the citizens.

Case was convinced that high-level discussions were already happening in secret, and that the public would finally get answers before the end of the week.

"If I'm right, the time they give this news is in three days. If nothing changed since I wasn't making any drastic movements yet, the timeline should still be probably the same."

Sitting on the couch, Case picked up the remote and changed the channels on the televisions, but no entertainment sources were found.

All of the news was directed to "The Visit" which everyone was naming from the otherworldly bodies from space.

And all of them had already considered it a canon event, since the government wasn't saying anything when everyone in the world was threatened by it.

So-called experts began to create some theories about what Outer was about and how it would change the world as a whole.

But Outer is nothing like rainbows and butterflies.

It will change the world as a whole, and it will be a drastic downfall for those who aren't able to adjust to it.

"Almost everything will be disregarded. All one had to do now was learn more about high technology, space, and spaceships."

After everything he had studied to reach the top, Case couldn't begin to fathom how Earth had fallen at its early stages so far, dragging everyone on the mud with it.

But this time, Case wouldn't let it happen.

Not again.

Case was determined to ensure that Earth would thrive, as he needed his family to live a good life with the influence of Outer.

For the many things to come, he will need Auralex.

"For now, I had to be patient."

And that's how Case did.

For the next three days, Case and his family did nothing but laze around the house, while the rest of the world spiraled into a state of panic.

It's probably because Case was going to get busy once the government made its move.

Just as he predicted, a news outlet appeared on their television screens.

"Greetings, everyone. This is the President of the United States. As of today, it's been a week since the announcement from a spokesperson and representative of Antavon Kingdom, Auralex, had spoken."

He tried to appear calm, but the cracks showed.

There was nervousness behind it, something that the leaders of the world should be good at hiding.

He then continued with a heavy tone.

"The fascinating lives from outer space that we could only see from above have descended upon us. It's hard to believe it, but everything is true. The Otherworldly beings have come to make a deal."
