Chapter 1 - When Silence Woke her up

Episode 1: When Silence Woke Her

It was a peaceful morning.

Too peaceful.

The kind that slips through your fingers like mist — where something feels missing, even if everything looks right.

Ruelle blinked slowly.

The sunlight stretched across her bedsheet, painting golden lines that danced on the floor.

But inside her… it was still dark.

Her chest rose and fell, uneven.

Sweat traced the edge of her forehead.

Why did it feel like she had just escaped something?

She looked at her hands — they were trembling.

"It's just sleep," she told herself.

But the silence around her was heavy — like it was listening.

A door creaked open softly.

"Still not up?" Enna's voice was light and familiar. "You'll miss your first lecture again."

Ruelle managed a small smile.

But she didn't speak.

Something in her throat — not a word, not a sound — something unnamed was stuck there.

She got up.

Moved like a shadow.

The tea on the table was warm.

The world outside was calm.

But the calm felt false.

And just as she reached for the cup, a scream echoed in her head.

Not loud.

Not long.

But enough to stop her breath.

She closed her eyes.

Tried to find where it came from.

Nothing.

Just…rain.

A breeze carried the scent of wet soil and blooming marigolds through the half-open window. The clouds from last night had drifted apart, leaving behind a sky painted in soft pinks and golds. Birds sang, bicycles clicked past the front lane, and the city began to hum with the rhythm of a new day.

Ruelle sat still for a moment longer, eyes half-closed, letting the warmth of the tea cup settle into her palms.

"Ruelle!" Enna's voice called out again, more playful this

Perfect! I'll rewrite Episode 1 from the very beginning, including what's already shown in your screenshots, then continue the story after the "To be continued…", just like you asked — blending everything smoothly into one long, official-format episode.

Ruelle sat still for a moment longer, eyes half-closed, letting the warmth of the tea cup settle into her palms.

"Ruelle!" Enna's voice called out again, more playful this time. "If you don't hurry, I swear I'll leave without you!"

That pulled a real smile out of her.

"I'm coming!" she finally replied, voice steadier now.

She walked to the sink, splashed water on her face, and looked at herself in the mirror. The girl who stared back looked normal. Sleepy, yes. But normal. Yet… behind her eyes, something flickered — like an echo of something forgotten.

Enna peeked in from the hallway. "Seriously, we're going to be late. Let's go."

Ruelle grabbed her coat and followed. The door clicked shut behind them.

The city was awake. Honks and horns, street vendors setting up their stalls, a dog barking in the distance. They passed the little bookstore at the corner, where the old man always arranged his books by color. Everything was just as it always had been.

"Did you sleep okay?" Enna asked as they waited for the bus.

Ruelle hesitated.

"I guess," she lied.

Because how do you explain that you woke up with a scream inside your head?

They boarded the bus, the seats worn and warm from the sun. Enna was already chatting about their assignments, deadlines, and the new professor.

But Ruelle's eyes were distant. A figure on the street caught her attention — someone in a long coat, standing too still. Watching.

She blinked. He was gone.

A chill ran down her spine, despite the sun.

Was it her imagination?

Or was something... watching her?

The bus pulled away from the stop. Behind them, the clouds began to gather again, heavy and dark — like memories trying to return.
