Chapter 1: New World, New Family

That was the first thing Ron Wisel felt as his consciousness slammed into his new body like a meteor striking the earth. His lungs burned as he gasped for air, his fingers digging into soft sheets. The scent of antiseptic and something floral—lavender, maybe—filled his nostrils.
"Where… am I?"
His vision blurred, then sharpened. White ceiling. A faint hum of machinery. A window to his right showed a sky so blue it hurt to look at.
And then—
[SYSTEM INITIALIZED.]
A translucent blue screen flickered to life in front of him, glowing with lines of text.
[Welcome, User: Ron Wisel.]
[Pokémon Game Shop System activated.]
[Current Achievement Points (AP): 0]
[Quest Log Unlocked.]
Ron's breath hitched. 'A system? Like in those web novels?'
Before he could process it further, the door creaked open.
A woman in her late thirties stepped in, her brown eyes widening when she saw him awake. She wore a lab coat over casual clothes, her dark hair tied in a messy bun.
"Ron! You're finally up!" She rushed to his side, pressing a cool hand to his forehead. "How do you feel?"
*Who the hell is this?*
Memories that weren't his own trickled in.
'Dr. Lillian Wisel. His "mother."'
Indus Country. A world where Pokémon existed for millennia.
A car accident. A coma. His "recovery."
Ron forced a smile. "I'm… okay."
Lillian sighed in relief. "You gave us a scare. Three days unconscious after that seizure…" She shook her head. "But you're back just in time."
"Just in time for what?"
She grinned. "Your first day at No 234 Indus Pokémon Academy, of course!"

After Lillian left to make a call, Ron stared at the floating screen.

Ron exhaled sharply. 'So I really am in a Pokémon world. And this system… is my cheat.'
He swiped the screen, browsing the shop.

His fingers clenched. *This is real.*
A knock at the door.
"Ron?" A younger girl maybe twelve peeked in. His "sister," Jessica. "Mom says you're going to school tomorrow. You *have* to pick a cool starter!"
He raised an eyebrow. "Starter?"
She groaned. "Ugh, don't tell me the coma messed up your memory *again*."
Jessica flopped onto his bed, pulling out a **holo-tab**. A news report played:
"Indus Academy's annual Starter Ceremony begins tomorrow. This year's options: Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur,Evee,Aron,....."
Ron's pulse spiked.The classic three.

Jessica smirked. "I bet you'll pick Charmander. You've always liked Fire-types."
Ron didn't answer. His gaze drifted back to the system screen.
What else can this thing do?

Dinner was awkward.
Lillian chatted about her research on Pokémon evolution stones, while Jessica rambled about a Poke Block contest. Ron's "father," a quiet man named Daniel, barely spoke.
No one seemed to notice he wasn't the *real* Ron.
Later, in his room, he opened the system again.

Ron smirked. Easy enough.
He grabbed Jessica's abandoned holo-tab and searched:

Not bad for a first day. But a news catch his eyes.
"Unusual energy surges detected in South Gyanis Sea. Researchers baffled."
The screen showed a blurry image of a shadowy figure with red eyes beneath the waves.
Ron's blood ran cold.

He dismissed the screen, but the dread lingered.
This world has Pokémon… and something darker.
The next morning, Ron stood in front of No 234Indus Pokémon Academy, its gates towering over him. Students milled about, some with Pokémon already at their sides.
A hand clapped his shoulder.
"Ready to meet your starter?" Lillian smiled.
Ron nodded, but his mind was elsewhere.
Time to test this system.

As he stepped forward, a voice called out behind him.
"Hey! Are you picking Charmander or what?"
A girl with blue eyes and a confident smirk stood there Serena, though he didn't know her name yet.
Ron smirked back. "Guess you'll find out."
