Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4 - MY PLACE

JONAH POV

~Manchester, United Kingdom~

I picked up my hoodie from where I had hanged it, placing It on my shoulder I opened the door to leave. The Gr.. The corner has always been an intresting resturant and also a good learning experience for me. As I walked by the streets, the sounds of musics, streets shows filled the air. Still lost in my thoughts I heard a voice, distant. "Jonah!, Jonah! The more it got closer the more it became clear who it was, I frowned. With sweat evident on his face, it was clear he had been running. He took several stops before he finally caught up to me, I had already stopped, waiting for him.

He finally stopped, his hand on his knees, he took several breathe, then he spoke out. "Y...You forgot Your phone," he said. As he slowly reaching inside his pocket, I checked my pockets for confirmation before he brought it out. Hands in my hoodie, but to no avail. Then he brought it out and handed it to me, "it seems I got a little bit excited and forgot it," I said to myself. After taking another glance at my phone I slid it inside my pocket, with my hand still holding it inside my pocket. Then I turned to him, I gave a smile that didn't quite reach my eyes, "thanks man," I said, before turning away. I noticed he was walking beside me, but i kept quiet.

I began increasing my pace slowly, then he spoke out. "Nice weather heh,?" He said nervously. "Yh, I guess," I replied. "Well..." He looked around then continued, You doing anything fun?" Taking aback by his question, "not really just a live debate," I said, as I scoffed trying to make it sound boring. But quite the opposite happened, he's face lit up, as he brought out his glasses, putting them on. He said, "You mean anime debates right?" He's eyes boring to my mine. I froze, "Yh" I said. We continued walking. "Why is he still following me," I screamed in my head. Wishing an eagle flew down and took him away, but then again would it be able, I wondered in my head or maybe I was saying it out loud, because Elijah looked at me, but said nothing. "Mind if I hang out at Your place, I really got nothing much to do," he said. I looked at him again, I tought about it, I doubt my dad cared about anything I did, except it was about me taking his business seriously. But then again, it might get him upset.

My brow furrowed, I tought for a while, then I sighed. "You watch anime right?" I asked, he nodded. "You're not scared of being live to over a thousand people right? He blinked his eyes then said nothing at first, like he was thinking about it. Then he finally nodded. "I guess You'll do just fine." I said. As we walked closer to my Estate.

ELIJAH POV

After a very long walk, we finally got to an Estate, we got to a place which it seemed likely it was Jonah's house with the way he approached, the massive mansion, they were several cars parked. I suspected it was theirs but I said nothing. Jonah was always a cool and mysterious guy, sometimes I tought he was an arrogant guy, even tho for some reasons he tries to act like that but I wasn't sure who he really was. He opened the plain black door and signalled for me to enter which I did. Thinking again, I wondered why someone who lived in such wealth worked at a restuarant and I had heard rumors he was the oldest staff currently working for Mr. Marvin. Nevertheless I didnot pry.

It seemed he might I have noticed by uneasiness, he raised an eyebrow then spoke, "You probably want answers, or think Im a shady person," he said looking at me. "N..No, not really," I said, my voice barely audible, trying not to be rude. "Cool," he said, as he walked foward signalling with his hand, we are going up the stairs. I noticed the usual calm and prideful demeanor, Jonah usually carried was gone. I noticed his face was suddenly filled with a frown, tho he tried to hide it, we passed a young boy, he was slightly younger than us, so probably 14 or 15. He tried to greet but the moment he met Jonah's eyes he stopped and looked at me, he's face sad, "hey," he said, walking down the stairs, he's dark curly hair and similar appearance to Jonah indicated he was likely he's brother or a family member. It seemed I had been walking while thinking as I stumbled over a pair of shoes scattered across the floor.

Jonah looked at me, but didn't say anything, he's face softened quite a little, then he sighed, rubbing his face. As he turned the door knob. "Welcome to my humble abode." I stared in awe, my eyes wandering every part of the room, when my eye caught Jonah for a brief second he was smiling slightly, or was it just me I tought not bothering to look a second time. I stared at the room again, It wad dark and purple, anime posters over the room, Even from animes I tought no one had watched. I stared at the female character on the right side of the room. "It seems someone has a crush on a naruto character," I teased. He scoffed clearly embarrased, not able to deny it. He locked the door, trying to change the topic. He had a fully set gaming platform, he's headphones carefully arranged at one part.

The room was very large, tho it was scattered like he was looking for something precious. Tho I wasn't sure, but it seems this room was built ideally to his taste, there was a large bed, which I wondered why a single person would have such a massive bed, like he read my thoughts he shrugged, I know it's weird," he scratched the back of his head. He kicked the pillows on the floor and other things away, to give space, then he told me to set on one of the chairs present in his room. He started setting up, he placed a ring light at our front then placed his phone inbetween it. The light rested on our faces, he clicked the tiktok button, and after so several taps, and scroll, we were live.

I Wasn't sure if he felt weird or embarrased hosting a live show with someone else because he hesitated. "It's shadow rebuttal," he said, his voice a little bit lighter than he's usually very masculine voice. It seems he was hosting it with someone maybe he's opponent. They exchange few pleasantries. Then they started, he had said a thousand but this was over ten thousand. "The debate was calm at first, until after 15 minutes, the comments wasn't helping matters and it seems Jonah was losing his composure. "Crazy how anime debates make grown men look like kids," I said to myself. "You see a ki blast would be enough to vaporize Naruto," he said, he's eyes firm and serious. His opponent flaired standing from he's seat, "what are You saying fam," he growled. Visibly annoyed the debate had carried on for over an hour and the views were increasing, and so were the comments.

It seems, the Naruto supporter was trying to counter, by stating feats for Naruto, tho I wasn't sure if he was saying the truth, and it seems Jonah was losing the argument, atleast he wasn't able to debunk the opponent claim. I was no anime veteran or a live debater like Jonah but I had read and watched a lot of manga and anime especially Naruto Shippuden to know he was lying, maybe not lying but exaggerating. "I'm... My voice came out low not the tempo I was going for, they stopped and looked at me. "The feat You're stating doesn't exists," I searched finally finding the tempo I need for my voice to be heard. He flinched. "Who is he?" He spoke finally recognizing there had been someone other than Jonah there, Jonah looked at me, then turned back, I wondered what he might say, he wasn't the typical nice guy.

"A friend and a pro debater like me," he said, voice firm. I was taken aback. He looked at me again, "go on," he said. He's opponent relaxed, I continued, "You see Naruto did not demonstrate such feat but rather, a plantery feat I said. He tried to counter, but I started bringing up several cases to backup my point, I suddenly started gaining confidence, and the tempo of my voice was steadily increasing, after another 30 minutes he gave up, and conceded. For the first time, I saw Jonah genuinely smiling. He laughed so hard, You actually got Twizz to admit defeat, Impressive." He said giving me a fist bump, which I reciprocated back at him.

The comments were encouraging, "who is he?" One commented, "what's You're handle," another commented, "Do join the next live," another commented. "Well we've come to the end of the live, Jonah said, answering a comment, have a nice day, and You too, Twizz." He said grinning, the boy scoffed, before leaving the live video call, as Jonah also did likewise. "You're an intresting guy You know," he laughed. I smiled back, maybe he wasn't such a cold guy afterall, I tought to myself.
