Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Tyra, if our parents would not permit us to go for the party, let's just sneak out and go." "No, I don't want to do anything to make my mother feel disrespected or sad. You know she's the only one taking care of me." Tyra stressed. "Let's juat do this for once, considering the fact that we got invited to the birthday party of one of the most popular people in school and we can't miss it for the world." Clara, Tyra's best friend said. "I know our parents want the best for us and they don't want any harm to befall us." Tyra retorted. "Stop acting childish and get out of your comfort zone. Who's your favorite Disney Princess?" Clara asked. " You know that already, it's Rapunzel." " And even at a point in time Rapunzel defied her mother's words for once to see the world for herself and I think, no I know Rapunzel would be very happy if you also do same." Clara said. Tyra just kept mute, going over what Clara had just said. "Look, if you won't go that's fine. I can go all by myself." Clara said. "Okay, whatever I'll go with you but there won't be a next time." Tyra finally gave in, making Clara squeal with joy. "Yes, just this once."

"Wow, this party is dope!" Clara shouted on top of her voice so that Tyra could hear her even with the loud music playing. "Yeah, I love it." Tyra replied.

"Hello, Princess are you ready for the party?" Jake asked his girlfriend. "Yeah, babe. And by the way, how do I look?" Princess asked Jake. She was wearing a totally black cargo pants, a black 'Chanel' crop top and a pair of black 'Nike' sneakers. She also had her hair laying long and wavy beyond her shoulders and had applied a little bit of makeup on her face. "Yeah, you're looking like a badass diva and of course the princess you are." Jake said with a smile of pleasure. " Shall we go?" Jake asked as he bowed and held out his hand to Princess and Princess curtsied gracefully and accepted it and they walked together to Jake's Maybach. At just the age of 16, Jake already had a car of his own and also had a penthouse, where he did a lot of hooking up with girls from and not from his school until he met Princess and decided to stay faithful and loyal to her. His parents allowed him to do whatever hewanted to do therefore they weren't surprised when he introduced Princess to them; she was the fifth girl he introduced to them as his girlfriend so far and honestly, they felt pity for her because they knew she was going to be dumped soon. But what they didn't know including Jake was that Princess wasn't after love as they thought. She was obviously in for the money but she didn't make it obvious to them. "This place is superb!" Princess shrieked when they got down from the car. "Yeah, my friends and I have a pretty good taste for these kind of things." Jake said. "Why are we still standing here? Let's go inside and join in the fun." Princess said and pulled Jake along.

"Clara, it's late. Let's hit the road. Remember we did not seek permission before coming to this party." Tyra whined. " Okay, I'm going to listen to you because you agreed to come with me." Clara replied.

"Princess, let me get this phonecall. I'll be back soon. Jake said. "K, I'll be waiting." Princess said. " Jake, are you coming home already." Jake's dad questioned. "No, but why're asking?" "Something came up between your mom and I and we think we should let you know 'bout it." Mr. Sander said. "What's up? You can tell me through the phone, you know." Jake said. "No, it's better to say it to you personally. By the way, are you drunk? Your voice sounds really awful." Mr. Sander asked. "A little but three shots of vodka can't do any harm to me,right?" "Okay, but we're expecting you at home anytime soon." Mr. Sander notified. "Whatever!" Jake replied and hang up the call. He went back inside to fetch Princess only to find her lap dancing a guy and french kissing him with tongues involved. In anger and frustration, he suddenly went and started driving his car to wherever he might get to clear his head. The road and everything seemed unclear to him and it was because he still felt dizzy from the vodka he had taken earlier and before he could realize, his car had smashed into an uber. An uber that was having Tyra and Clara in it. Jake did not even know he got involved in an accident because the vodka still had its effects on him. Whaen he woke up the next morning, he was in his bed with an extremely awful migraine. He couldn't even remember what had happened the previous night. Meanwhile Tyra was admitted at tge hospital and diagnosed with lung failure. Her lungs were partially damaged but luckilly enough, she had a lung donor and unfortunately enough, the lungs weren't compatible with her system. All the more, she was in a very critical condition. Fortunately for Clara, she came out of the accident whole and hearty without any injury on her body. It hurt Tyra's mom, Lilith, that her girl was the only one to suffer so she took it all out on Clara. On the other hand, Mr. Sander got to find out about the mess Jake had created. He did everything in his reach to clear out any evidence or clues that might lead to Jake being arrested. He paid for the hospital bills and also for the cost of getting a lung donor and her lung expenses. "Caren, don't inform Jake about this. It's very likely that he might destroy everything we've done to clear his name once he gets to know what he did." Mr. Sander warned his wife. "Are you trying to say that I'm a blabbermouth? Whatever!" Caren retorted.

"Jake, remember we had to talk yesternight?" Mr. Sander reminded him. "Oh yeah, but can we do it later? My head's a mess right now." Jake pleaded. "Your mom and I have to go on a business trip to Spain but before we leave you'll be changing schools and also we're confiscating your car, Mr. Paxton can give you a ride to wherever you wanna go to." Mr. Sander told Jake. "You're doing no such thing." Jake said. "Well, we've done all of that already." Mr. Sander replied. "Ugh! I hate you guys. Now if you don't mind can you leave my room so I can get some rest." Jake said as he lay back on the bed and pulled up the covers. "Honey, it's for your own good." Caren said as she and her husband exited the room.

"Mom, I'm very sorry. I shouldn't have gone to that party without your permission." A teary eyed Tyra pleaded. "You could have lost your life but I don't blame you. It's the fault of that so called friend of yours." Lilith said. "No mom. She was just lucky to get out of the accident unscathed." Tyra said, trying to evict that thought from her mom's head but it was to no avail as Lilith continued to rain insults on Clara. Someone knocked on the door, interrupting Lilith in the process of bullshitting Clara. "The door's not locked." Lilith said. "Speak of the devil and 'she' appears. You're the last person I want to see now. Now get out of here, you carrier of bad luck." Lilith yelled out of anger. "Ma'am, it's unfortunate that the accident happened but it wasn't my fault." Clara explained. "You devil's incarnate, didn't I warn you to stay away from Tyra? It's already enough that she almost died because of you." Lilith yelled at her again. "Okay, I'm very sorry for everything but I'll not come back here again." Clara said and ran off. "Better for you! I never want to see you anywhere close to my home." Tyra felt really bad. She couldn't defend her friend from her mother's insults. Yet she sat embarrassed as her mother continued to shower insults on Clara. "Mom, why are you doing this?" Tyra asked. "That isn't important. Your principal just called and said you can go back to school once you're feeling good." Lilith informed Tyra. "I don't wanna go back to school." Tyra complained. "But you have to. You know you can't just give up on school after an accident." Lilith said. "Whatever!" Tyra replied.
