Chapter 1 - In the Beginning, There Was Only Rage

Nothing.

That was all I felt.

My heart didn't beat, my lungs didn't breathe, and my limbs didn't move. I wasn't even sure I had any of those at the moment, even. And I didn't care. There was no desire to do anything anymore—not even to feel.

'Did I die…?'

I wondered if I truly did die, but that would be insanely absurd because all I did was load up that new game, Lord of Destruction, before I started smelling burnt flesh and appeared here.

What an irony. Destroyed by the L—No! This was no time for dad jokes.

'I'm as good as dead, that's for sure.'

Was I wrong for testing out a VR game that appeared out of nowhere at my doorstep?

Sigh… What now? Was I supposed to drift as a mass of nothingness forever?

'But, hmm, did I begin hallucinating at some point? Is that light I see?' I wondered, completely disregarding the fact that I didn't even have eyes.

The light beamed and grew larger, but maybe I was just getting nearer. And shortly, the brightness filled my space, rendering everything completely white.

Just as quickly as it came, the light receded, and I could see again, though what greeted my vision first after it unblurred wasn't what I would call a pleasant sight.

Right before me was a scrawny old white woman in dark green nun attire.

Of all the beauties in the world I could be greeted with after being born, it had to be an old hag. I screamed and wailed; anyone would, being in my position.

She held me with widened eyes and said words I couldn't understand with a loud gasp, looking immensely shocked.

I looked at my short, stubby arms, but they were thick, with defined muscles—nothing like how an infant should look. Further down, my abs were visible and exactly eight in number. Then, I looked at my legs, and my thighs had three distinct compartments of pure muscle, with my third leg being the size of two of those. I was HIM.

'Why are you looking at me like that? You clearly cannot handle my naked majesty. Unhand me, you vile creature,' I thought, screaming and flailing about even more. If I was feeling extra desire-less before, now I was feeling extra stupid, hungry, and tired.

I was cleaned and given to a woman with faded yellow hair, pale white skin, and tired amber eyes. She was beautiful. And even better, she looked at my naked majesty with admiration and love. That was the level of appreciation I deserved. Hence, I didn't need to scream and cry anymore; I became relaxed.

She said a few things I still couldn't understand as she looked at me, but all I understood was her final word, "…Williem."

'That is my name, isn't it? Damn language barrier! What kind of name is that? What happened to Son Goku, huh?' I lampooned and tried to complain to her, but she shut me up with her wicked methods!

Shortly after, a tall, black-haired man appeared, cosplaying as a man from the 19th century. He seemed quite stoic and reserved, as though hiding deep-seated rage. He and the beauty holding me seemed to be having a conversation, with tears slowly forming in her eyes and his filled with boiling anger and disgust.

The old nun from before said something to the man, and he pointed at my mother, said something, and then stormed off.

He was probably someone of importance to her. But why were they arguing? I had no clue.

She looked at me and said something before letting the tears fall from her eyes, beaming up with a smile, and tightening her arms around me.

I looked away from her, towards the old nun and her two younger assistant nuns as they moved about, cleaning the room. One assistant nun went to the wide wooden double-door, closed it, and seemed to lock it.

The older nun heard the lock, looked over to her, and asked something, but the assistant nun didn't answer. I didn't see what happened next, but all I saw was the head of the old nun flying in the air.

The assistant nun screamed at the top of her voice, but she was quickly silenced, too. With my limited field of vision, I could only see the old nun's body fall and the terrified expression of the woman who gave birth to me.

Something was deeply wrong. Was I going to die again?

The latter screamed and rose from the bed she lay in an attempt to run with me in her arms, but she fell to the ground instead. It seemed her legs were too weak to run after childbirth.

The murderous assistant nun came to my mother and grabbed her by the shoulder. Blood covered the young nun's mouth and stained the upper part of her clothing. She spoke to my mother with a devilishly wide smile that revealed her bloodied teeth with long and sharp upper incisors.

I took a wild guess and concluded that she drank the other assistant nun's blood.

This nun was a vampire! There were vampires in this world!

My mother shrugged the vampire's hand with sharp fingers off and attempted to run, but the latter slashed her back, causing her to fall again.

With a thud, I hit the ground too, and fell away from her. I couldn't hold it in anymore. The absurdity of the entire situation caused me to burst into a wail.

I screamed as loud as I could. 'Someone help! Please! I don't want to die after I had just been born! Please!'

But no one came.

I watched the vampire nun stand over my mother, place her sharp fingers below her neck, and slash!

"Ack… ack—" she held her throat with one hand as blood flowed and stretched her other hand towards me, but it fell on me weakly.

The vampire nun laughed and stepped past her, grabbed me, and raised me up to her black eyes. Who knew such a beauty could be so vile and wicked, willing to kill a newborn?

But even worse, was that she killed my mother in this world. She killed my mother in this world!

I stopped crying and stared at the wicked vampire nun.

My first real desire in this new world began to form, and all I could feel… was pure, unadulterated rage.
