Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Emperor and Dragon Ball World’s Technology

At first, he wanted to call them the "Wolves of Fenris", that way, he could represent both his homeland and himself.

But, since he'd be fighting across the stars in the future, Russ thought it over and decided that "Space Wolves" would be a more fitting name.

Russ keenly noticed that his brother seemed to hold a bit of hostility toward him.

No matter—according to Fenrisian tradition, the two of them just needed to have a good fight.

Among the people of Fenris, it was considered a friendly way to communicate, a means to strengthen bonds between brothers or friends.

Russ had already made up his mind: once he finished dealing with the little cub's business, he'd have a proper brawl with this brother of his.

"I understand. Then from this day forward, the 6th Legion will officially be renamed the Space Wolves," the Emperor nodded and declared.

At once, the Tech-Priests of the Mechanicum and several Imperial officials standing by the Emperor began drafting the official document, ready to send out the order to every Legion.

This command would spread throughout all worlds under the Emperor's control: the return of the second Primarch, Leman Russ of the Space Wolves.

"Hail to you, my father!"

"Mmm, my child. I shall prepare a grand banquet to welcome you into the Imperial family. From now on, you shall fight for humanity, for the Imperium, and for me," the Emperor said.

"Father! I discovered some interesting things on Fenris, I thought they might be useful, so I brought them with me." Russ nodded toward the Emperor, then pointed to the eyeball-shaped spaceship behind him.

The Emperor had noticed this strange, eye-shaped spaceship as soon as it entered the hangar.

At first, he'd thought it was just some trinket Russ had brought along, but he hadn't expected it to be a gift for himself.

Standing beside the Emperor, Horus couldn't help but smile.

That little ship looked just like a tiny escape pod, barely even as big as a Space Marine Landing Craft.

This brother of his actually treated it like some great treasure!

No matter. It was to be expected of someone from a primitive world, a barbarian who probably had never seen a real Imperial war barge.

"Did you bring me a gift, Russ? What is this thing?" the Emperor asked with curiosity.

"There are several items! All of them I found inside that little spaceship: a battle suit, some weapons, a power level scouter, and, most precious of all, the little spaceship itself," Russ replied.

"Oh? So you consider these things very precious?"

"That's right, Father. These items are incredibly valuable, worth countless times more than your flagship, the Imperator Somnium," Russ declared.

At this, Horus, standing by the Emperor's side, couldn't help but let out a snort.

What was his brother even thinking? Did he really understand the value of the Imperator Somnium?

Even the Custodians standing guard by the Emperor cast speechless looks at this newly arrived Primarch from a backwater world.

Even the Space Wolves who had come with Russ from the Sixth Legion looked helplessly at their Primarch.

"Heh, is that so?" the Emperor chuckled.

"Hahaha! My father, I know you all look down on it, but I assure you, this little spaceship is worth far more than the Imperator Somnium," said Leman Russ.

"In that case, introduce it to me, my son. If what you've brought truly surpasses my flagship, then I will grant you a reasonable request as your reward," the Emperor said.

Hearing this, a faint smile appeared on Axis's lips.

This was exactly what Russ had been waiting for. The Emperor had indeed taken the bait.

His cheap old man might live in a savage world, but if you thought that made him a mere brute or a brainless fool, you'd be making a huge mistake.

His old man was actually extremely clever!

"You're generous indeed, Father. I think I'll be earning that reward, and perhaps more than one, because I'm about to show you several priceless treasures.

"First up is this power level scouter, it can accurately measure the power of any being," said Russ, giving Axis a glance.

Axis immediately understood and took off the scouter he'd been wearing, handing it to the Emperor.

Curious, the Emperor took the device, put it on his eye, and pressed the button on the side.

A series of beeps sounded.

A string of numbers appeared before the Emperor's eyes: the power levels of the Space Marines, of the Custodian Guards, of Russ himself, and even of Horus standing nearby.

"Axis, were you just now using this to measure the power of my Custodians?" the Emperor asked.

"That's right! I wanted to see just how powerful these golden-armored warriors were," Axis replied cheerfully.

The Emperor nodded and continued using the scouter, even scanning a few psykers on the ship.

When these psykers weren't using their psychic powers, their power levels were the same as ordinary people, less than 10.

But as soon as they began channeling the Warp's power, the numbers on the scouter soared.

Psykers were indeed powerful; some of the strongest could kill a dozen Space Marines bare-handed, with power levels reaching into the hundreds or even thousands.

The Emperor didn't use the scouter to measure his own power.

His power far surpassed even the Primarchs, and once he unleashed his true psychic might, this little gadget might just explode.

By his estimation, the device could only measure up to around 23,000 in power level.

Anything above that, and the internal chip would reach its limit and overload, possibly exploding outright.

"It's certainly practical. In the future, this lens could be embedded into Space Marines' visors. Not only can it detect physical strength, but it can also measure energy levels.

"However, the energy level needs to be actively channeled, if not, it won't detect anything. It can also scan for lifeforms in the vicinity," the Emperor remarked, giving the scouter a very favorable review.

With this power level scouter, Space Marines would have a much clearer understanding of their opponents, and could also detect high-energy targets. It would be very useful for searching out enemies.

The Emperor decided to hand the scouter over to the Tech-Priests of Mars for thorough research, and then equip his Space Marines with it.

"This is just the least impressive one," Russ said, taking out an energy gun.

"This is an energy-based weapon. As for its power… is anyone interested in trying it out?" Russ finished, looking over at the Custodian Guards.
