"My woman," Landon's voice carried through the corridor as I passed by the council room. The possessive claim sent shivers down my spine. Even after two weeks back at the castle, I still couldn't believe he'd staked his claim so publicly.
"And how is that working out for you?" Owen's teasing voice replied. "I heard she refused to move into your chambers."
I froze mid-step, pressing myself against the wall. I shouldn't be eavesdropping, but I couldn't help myself.
A low growl rumbled through the air. "She's stubborn."
"Not to mention terrified," Owen continued fearlessly. "The poor girl jumps like a startled rabbit every time you enter a room."
"I would never hurt her," Landon snapped, his voice sharp with offense.
