FABIAN
I couldn't stop fidgeting in my seat. The Alpha Council chambers were impossibly huge, with towering ceilings and marble columns that made me feel tiny and insignificant. The air felt thick with power—actual, tangible power that seemed to press down on my shoulders.
Five empty seats stood on the raised dais at the front of the room. Five seats for five Alphas who would decide Bianca Hayes' fate.
My phone vibrated in my pocket. A message from Marcus:
*Council roster confirmed: Alphas Gregory, Vasquez, Chen, Reynolds, and Thorne.*
I nearly dropped my phone. Liam Thorne? On the judging panel?
"Shit," I muttered under my breath.
"Language," Leo reprimanded from beside me, his gaze fixed straight ahead.
I pocketed my phone and tried to look composed, but my mind was racing. Of all the Alphas they could have chosen, why him? Our history wasn't exactly friendly.
