ROMAN
The taste of rage filled my mouth like copper, my wolf Kael snarling beneath my skin. Our vision edged with crimson as Bianca's confession echoed in my mind.
"Seraphina was the one who hired me to attack your wedding."
I surged to my feet, nearly toppling the metal interrogation table. Guards flinched as I stalked toward the door.
"Roman, wait!" Vanessa called, her voice thin with panic. "Please—"
I couldn't wait. Couldn't stop. My wolf was dangerously close to the surface, claws extending, bones cracking with the need to shift and hunt.
"Where is Sterling?" I demanded, bursting into the hallway. "Where is that treacherous bastard?"
The few guards stationed outside snapped to attention, eyes wide with alarm. None answered fast enough.
"Roman!" Vanessa caught up to me, reaching for my arm. "You need to think—"
I spun around, barely recognizing my own voice. "Think? While they walk free? While our son is in danger?"
