Percival Covington stared at the screen of his tablet, his jaw tightening with each vicious comment he read. The university's internal network was flooded with posts about Lyra - accusations of plagiarism, snide remarks about her character, and mockery of her alleged coldness toward Professor Avery.
"This is absurd," he muttered, scrolling through the barrage of hate.
Roman Sinclair stood beside his desk, shifting uncomfortably. "The university administration hasn't made any official statement yet, but the rumors are spreading fast."
"And they're allowing this witch hunt?" Percival's voice was dangerously calm.
"It seems they're doing nothing to stop it." Roman cleared his throat. "The Dean appears to be fueling it, actually."
