Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Fierce Battle! Kakashi!

"Hatake Kakashi."

The name echoed through the moonlit street.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes. For some strange reason, hearing Logan call him "Gojo Satoru" earlier had irritated him. He couldn't explain why.

He turned his head, looking at the kunai Logan had deflected. It had sliced through the air, pierced the clouds, and vanished from sight.

"Was that your jutsu?" Kakashi asked, calmly. "Or some kind of summoning beast?"

Logan didn't answer. Instead, he spoke in a quiet but firm tone, "We just want to leave. Leave this village that clearly no longer welcomes us. Please—let us go peacefully."

After all, Konoha had rejected the Uchiha. The entire clan had been wiped out.

Logically, all remaining Uchiha property should have fallen to the two survivors—Logan and Sasuke.

But they hadn't asked for anything. Not land. Not reparations. Not even an apology.

They simply wanted to leave.

Did Konoha really need to go as far as to hunt them down?

Snap.

Kakashi shut the small book in his hand—Icha Icha Paradise—and lifted his forehead protector, exposing his Sharingan. Chakra surged in both eyes.

He saw it now—behind Logan—a tall, hulking figure standing like a statue, glowing faintly under the moonlight.

"I'm sorry," Kakashi said. "It's nothing personal. Just duty."

With that, he flicked his wrist and threw three shuriken in a reverse grip.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Star Platinum appeared and batted the weapons aside effortlessly.

The Kakashi in front of them vanished.

The whisper of wind came from behind.

Star Platinum turned sharply. In the moonlight, its massive form cast a long, ominous shadow.

Kakashi had been moving silently, fast—but not fast enough.

Before he could retreat, Star Platinum grabbed Kakashi's head mid-air and slammed him down with terrifying force.

BOOM!

A splash of water exploded.

A clone. Water Clone Technique.

Kakashi's real body was watching from the shadows a dozen meters away.

"As the intel said—within a two-meter range, he's unstoppable in close combat," Kakashi thought. "This pressure… not even Guy gives off something like this."

"Alright, let's try ninjutsu then."

Danzo's orders didn't affect Kakashi's judgment. He trusted his skill enough to fight without harming Sasuke.

Hands moving in a blur, he formed seals.

"Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"

The remnants of the clone's splash rose into the air and twisted into a spiraling water dragon. Its eyes glowed red with rage as it lunged toward Logan.

"Ora!"

Star Platinum's fist smashed into the dragon's snout.

Before the beast could recover, the Stand unleashed a flurry of punches, trying to beat a B-rank jutsu into submission with sheer power.

Suddenly, the ground beneath Logan gave way—he was being dragged under.

Earth Style: Headhunter Jutsu.

Kakashi had seamlessly linked three techniques.

A clone to test Logan's reaction.

A water dragon to distract and corner.

And an underground attack to finish.

Alone, he'd pulled off the coordination of an entire tactical squad.

That's why he was called Konoha's Master of Ninjutsu.

The water dragon wrapped around Star Platinum, binding it just long enough for Kakashi to press a kunai to Logan's exposed neck.

"I win."

That thought crossed Kakashi's mind.

But in the next second—Star Platinum vanished.

In its place, purple vines burst from the earth, wrapping around buildings, trees, and stone pillars like ropes. They yanked Logan from the ground and flung him high into the air.

The wind roared past his ears.

But Logan's eyes remained eerily calm.

Danger.

Kakashi sensed it immediately.

Star Platinum reappeared, caught Logan mid-air by the arm, and spun him like a hammer, hurling him toward Kakashi at blinding speed.

Kakashi's heart jumped. He leapt back to escape the blast radius—

Too late.

"Ora!"

A diamond-hard fist smashed into Kakashi's face.

Boom!

Smoke exploded.

Another clone—Body Replacement Technique.

Sasuke saw the wooden log left behind—and the talisman attached to it.

"A paper bomb! Be careful!"

But it was too fast—too sudden—for him to warn earlier.

Star Platinum smashed the log into splinters with one punch. Then, using two fingers like surgical blades, it snipped the fuse of the paper bomb cleanly, disabling it before it could detonate.

Ten meters away, Kakashi reappeared. This time, his expression was serious.

He had underestimated Logan.

At first, Kakashi had assumed Logan was just another gifted ninja with a strange ability. He'd seen it all before—fighters who relied on one gimmick. Once you learned the trick, they crumbled.

But Logan wasn't one of them.

His mind was the true danger.

Even in chaos, Logan stayed calm. He judged the situation in an instant.

Beside him, young Sasuke clenched his fists. He could feel the pressure.

And Sasuke wasn't alone.

Elsewhere—in the Hokage's office—the Third Hokage peered into a glowing crystal ball, pipe in hand.

Several Aburame clan insects buzzed above the village, their eyes feeding surveillance back to their clan.

The Hyuga simply activated their Byakugan, observing directly through walls and rooftops.

Countless eyes were watching this fight—with tension and curiosity.

"Kakashi has grown stronger. His decision-making and ninjutsu speed are top-tier," someone murmured.

"But that Logan kid… he's not falling behind at all."

His records were easy to find.

The infamous "loser" of the Uchiha. Known for his laziness and failure to graduate on time.

Had he really been pretending all these years?

If so—why?

Stealing secrets? No. That would require climbing the ranks, not staying hidden.

Was he… truly a recluse?

The observers didn't know.

But they were all asking the same question:

"Who are you?"

If Logan could hear them, he'd probably shrug and answer:

"Just a regular unlucky guy."

All he'd ever wanted was to get a job, earn some money, and live quietly.

Then came the time travel.

And when he opened his eyes in this new world—his entire family was already dead.

He wasn't even allowed to grieve. The village wanted to erase him too.

The JOJO Stand System he gained wasn't a reward—it was the bare minimum compensation for the hell he'd been thrown into.

"Brother Logan," Sasuke asked, voice trembling slightly, "can we really win?"

Logan had worked miracles tonight—but Kakashi was no joke. A battle-hardened warrior from the Great Ninja Wars.

And by now, Kakashi had started to understand Logan's fighting style:

Absolute dominance in close combat.

But weakness at mid- and long-range.

If Kakashi kept his distance and spammed ninjutsu, Logan would be helpless to close the gap.

Even using Star Platinum to throw himself forward again was risky—it drained stamina and could be dodged with substitution.

Even Sasuke could see the strategy now.

"It's over," the Third Hokage whispered from his chair.

Then—Logan moved.

He ruffled Sasuke's middle-parted hair and smiled. "We'll win."

How?

Logan charged again. Star Platinum struck with brutal force.

Smoke again. Another clone. Kakashi reappeared ten meters away.

Logan didn't pursue.

He stood still.

Star Platinum vanished.

Danzo, watching from a shadowy surveillance room, scoffed. "All that pride, and he gives up now?"

Even Sasuke thought the same.

But not Kakashi.

His spine tingled. Danger. He tried to leap again—

But his legs didn't move.

Vines.

Purple vines had wrapped around his ankles and waist like steel chains, holding him in place.

"When?!" he gasped.

Logan spoke calmly. "The moment you believed you had won."

He hadn't just fought this entire time—he'd observed Kakashi too.

He noticed:

Kakashi's chakra pool was too small for large-scale, sustained ninjutsu.

The Body Replacement Technique only moved him about 10–15 meters.

So during their entire battle, Logan had secretly been planting Hermit Purple vines in a 20-meter radius, setting a trap net.

Now, wherever Kakashi teleported—he'd be caught.

Even so, Kakashi wasn't worried.

He'd deduced that Logan could only use one Stand at a time.

And Hermit Purple couldn't hurt him directly.

As long as he switched to Star Platinum for an attack, Kakashi could react and dodge again.

"I know what you're thinking," Logan said.

He pulled out a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket.

Kakashi's eyes widened.

It was the detonating tag he had used earlier.

"I can't hurt you," Logan said, "but this might."

He re-ignited the paper and gently dropped it in front of Kakashi.

Then he turned to Sasuke.

"Let's go."

Sasuke hesitated. "You're not going to stick it to him?"

Logan shook his head. "No need."

Kakashi had held back the whole time. Not once had he aimed for a vital spot.

There was no hatred between them.

Just survival.

As Logan and Sasuke walked away, Kakashi stared at their backs—one tall, one small.

He had copied thousands of jutsu in his life. Seen rare bloodline limits.

But this…

Logan's Stand was beyond all of it.

And Logan himself?

Even further beyond.

"What an interesting young man," Kakashi whispered.

BOOM.

The explosion erupted behind them, sending fire into the sky.

Logan didn't look back.

He raised his hand and gave a casual wave.

That lone silhouette—walking into darkness with fire behind him—was forever burned into the minds of all who watched.

The flames died out.

And Logan, the boy who had once been a Konoha shinobi, disappeared into the night.
