A dog-eat dog-world. I swear I was just fighting a magician! Where was I again? Oh right...
Cain stood tall under the sun, his dark skin and dark hair shining brightly as he walked towards a magician.
They had decided this fight would happen a while ago... Over some minor disagreement! Who was his opponent? None other than Rela Frize!
Who was she? Oh, just some star obsessed demon! I guess I can't fault her since demonkind lived in a terrible place. No sun, no moon, and no stars! Can you believe that?
"Are you ready to pay the price, Cain?!?"
Huh? What did I do?
"You brought me out here, Rela!!! What do you mean 'pay the price'??"
The grey skinned woman with twisted horns and a black robe scoffed at his question.
"..."
Despite scoffing, Rela remained silent like she was thinking...
"..."
??? She doesn't remember, does she?
"YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW?!?"
Rela quickly threw up her hands at his question, a nervous smile appearing on her face.
"I remember! I remember...!"
"So...?"
"I'm thinking Cain! Give me a moment. Or two."
...She has no idea. I don't even remember! She just told me to meet here!!
"Ah whatever."
Oh? Is she surrendering? What's that?
He questioned inwardly as she drew a stick from her robe... Wait that's a wand. Oh. She's not giving up-!
"[Starry Field!]"
From her wand, a collection of brightly colored balls of light appeared across the grassy field. The magic of stars! She was a dreadful magician to fight against...
Scrambling to avoid the newly appearing clusters of light, every sense in Cain's body tingled! He knew if he touched these he'd be blasted to the Underside and back!
"YOU CRAZY DEMON! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY YOU BROUGHT ME OUT HERE!!!"
He too took out a wand! It was small. Noticing this, Rela clearly failed to stifle a laugh.
Did she just laugh at my wand?
"THE SIZE DOESN'T MATTER!"
Wiping away tears from her eyes, she says, "Yes, yes... Whatever you say Cain."
"[SPARKS COLLIDE!]"
Cain yelped, still narrowly avoiding the stars which blanketed the field they were fighting in. At the tip of his rather short wand, two sparks appeared and smashed against each other. From this spark, a beacon of unruly flames was shot at Rela!
Haha! She'd never expect this...!
He laughed inwardly! Victorious from this single spell! He watched on... And Cain's eyes squinted. Rela had ducked rather quickly... In fact! She was not even touched by the spell!
Past her, the spell went further and cleared out the sky! It was one of Cain's most destructive spells, but she had dodged it so simply!
What???
"HEY, HOW'D YOU DO THAT??"
She laughed mockingly again, then pointed her wand at the running Cain.
"None of your BEESWAX!"
??? This blasted woman!
"[Greater Teleportation!]"
Huh? Did she just say telepor-
As he questioned her spell, Cain lost sight of the battlefield and reappeared in a dark place... The sound of thunder shook his body as soon as he felt rocks below him!
Thunder? Oh, come on...
Looking up, Cain witnessed a sky blanketed by clouds swirling in on themselves. A dark land briefly illuminated by thunder...
Shit! This is the Underside!
He fell to his knees, outright crushed by this news! He had found himself teleported to the land of demons... A dark land which he frequently made fun of!
If anyone finds out who I am I'm finished!
Cain was well known for making fun of the Underside. In fact, this was likely why Rela was fighting him.
This was known to demons who remained in the Underside too!
