Humans…
Often, they surpass themselves — in love, in hate, in kindness…
or in destruction.
Such great minds. Such wisdom — gifted by gods who, for reasons unknown, favored them above all.
Among all beings, they stood nearest to the truth. Nearest to the divine.
But...
Where did it all go wrong?
Was it when the First Goddess forged the Three Worlds, driven by the ambition to birth life anew?
Was it when humans began carving out territories within the sacred land of Aurethia?
Or was it when the great war — a conflict that scorched the realm for thirteen long years — erupted between the races of Aurethia, all seeking dominion, rule, and the forging of absolute hierarchy?
Whatever the reason — perhaps all of them, or none —none could have foreseen the result.
"The gods have no mercy. That's why they're gods."
— George R. R. Martin
Who would have thought that one act, one desperate move by mankind, would provoke such wrath from the heavens?
Who could have imagined they would awaken what was never meant to stir?
That they would reach into the forbidden,
that they would wield knowledge untouched even by gods?
Aspects so old, so buried, that even the divine had forgotten.
And some…
feared to remember.
