After Orlan and the others left, Logan looked at the ring in his hand and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
When facing Orlan, he had considered lying. Entrusting all his safety to someone else was too risky.
But he had no choice.
Logan had heard from Gareth that Mage Orlan was an 8th-level Mage, and also a highly respected grand Mage at Skyreach Citadel.
If Logan wanted to protect his sister, he had to rely on this old man.
Fortunately, his talent was truly extraordinary, and this old man valued him greatly. Logan thought this also meant his sister's safety would be somewhat assured.
Thinking this, Logan looked again at the ring in his hand.
The silver-white ring was set with a milky gemstone that emitted waves of mysterious magic. Being gifted with all elements, Logan immediately recognized it as spatial mana.
Following Lord Orlan's instructions, he focused his mind and looked toward the ring.
In the next moment, he saw a one-meter square independent space. The space was small but filled with many items, including the first-level Necromancy and first-level Spatial magic that Orlan had mentioned.
The first-level Spatial magic was a spatial mark, which could standardize mana on an object. Wherever the object went, its position could be sensed through spatial mana.
The first-level Necromancy magic was undead revival, which could temporarily revive some small dead creatures, like birds or mice, and then issue simple commands to them.
Both magics were very practical. Because they were special attribute first-level magics, their mana models and mana nodes were surprisingly complex to Logan.
It took Logan an hour before he finally mastered both spells.
To test the magic's effects, Logan specially asked Aris to bring some small animal carcasses from outside the Arcane Spire.
"Scum, damned scum. Why is he favored by the gods? This is unfair!"
Aris cursed resentfully.
He clearly knew he could never catch up with Logan. In recent days, many important figures had come to the Arcane Spire, and Lord Gareth treated them very politely.
And those important figures were especially kind to Logan.
"The one who deserves to enjoy these honors should be me… it should be mine…"
Aris muttered to himself softly.
He was unwilling to be surpassed by Logan, but had to face reality. While he was still struggling to meditate and familiarize himself with the Mana Element, Logan could already use Mana Crystal cores to cast first-level magic.
He knew that right now, he couldn't even cast zero-level magic, let alone first-level, because he wasn't even proficient at controlling Mana Element yet.
That was the normal standard for Mage apprentices.
Usually, a Mage apprentice would spend a year or more gradually mastering Mana Element to cast zero-level magic, then spend two or three more years mastering the first-level magic model and mana nodes to cast first-level magic.
Logan naturally ignored Aris's negative emotions. He opened the system panel and saw the second task had also been completed.

…
After Logan completed the last two magic trainings, the rewards arrived as promised. After receiving all the rewards, Logan felt his mana instantly overflow with immense power.
It seemed as if the mana of the entire world was at his disposal — a feeling truly wonderful.
Logan tossed aside the Mana Crystal core in his hand and tried casting the first-level fireball spell.
A fist-sized fireball instantly appeared before him. After throwing the fireball, Logan immediately gathered an Aqua Bolt. The whole process was incredibly smooth.
"Got even stronger!"
Logan said excitedly to himself.
But in the next moment, he felt dizzy — the mental exhaustion from casting too much magic. This wasn't his first time experiencing it.
His mana was infinite, but the mental power required to cast spells limited how many times he could cast, forcing Logan to face reality again: he was still inexperienced and needed much practice.
Right now, he just hoped his next task would grant him a title with unlimited mental power so he could truly become a ruthless casting machine.
Early the next morning, Logan woke up early and went to the Enchantment House.
Mage Orlan arrived shortly after, accompanied by Gareth.
"How did yesterday's training go?"
Orlan asked with a caring smile.
"The Necromancy and Spatial magics were rather complex, but it went fairly smoothly."
Logan replied respectfully.
Then he cast the first-level Necromancy spell "Undead Revival" on a dead mouse placed on the table. After a wave of dark, mysterious mana rippled, the mouse's limbs twitched, and soon it crawled to life.
Its nose sniffed the air, and under Logan's command, it crawled off the table and circled around Mage Orlan.
Gareth's expression was stunned — it really worked.
Even Gareth couldn't cast first-level Necromancy magic. He had imagined himself as a prodigy who could learn everything, but soon the complex magic models and unpredictable mana nodes made him give up on that idea.
This filled Gareth's gaze toward Logan with more emotion — so this was a true genius.
Mage Orlan smiled too. He reached out and touched the little revived creature. In the next moment, with a "pop," the little creature transformed into a blooming flower.
"It's Transmutation, a special magic independent of the seven elemental schools."
Logan exclaimed.
Logan immediately recognized the magic Orlan had cast. Besides the seven elemental magics, there were also some strange magics that existed independently.
"That's right, it's Transmutation. You can learn it later too. The so-called special magics independent of the seven schools are just derivatives of the seven elemental magics,"
the old man said with a hint of pride shining in his eyes.
"All right, your magical talent is indeed impressive. Even among the geniuses of the Skyreach Citadel, you already stand out as exceptional. Wait three more days — once I've dealt with things here, I'll take you away. If you have any problems these days, feel free to come find me,"
Orlan said gently, looking at Logan with patience reserved for prodigies.
"Teacher, may I ask if there are ways to increase mental power besides meditation?"
Logan asked tentatively.
His biggest problem right now was the slow growth of his mental power. First-level magic was the limit of what he could currently cast. He had glanced at some second-level magic models, but with his current mental power, even looking at them gave him headaches.
"Meditation is the only way to increase soul strength. Remember, don't delude yourself into expecting overnight success. Taking shortcuts will only lead you further down the wrong path!"
Orlan said sternly.
At Logan's question, the old man's expression suddenly became very serious.
"I understand, teacher."
Logan nodded earnestly. He sensed that his teacher was holding back something regarding the growth of soul power, but he didn't bother to probe further.
After Orlan left, Logan sat down and began meditating immediately.
However, not long after Orlan departed, Gareth returned again.
"Lord Gareth, is there something you need?"
Logan asked as he saw Gareth coming back.
Gareth looked at Logan with a complicated expression. It was hard for him to imagine that just over ten days ago, this youth, now so highly regarded by Mage Orlan, had been a down-and-out boy in Silvermoon City.
"Nothing much. Here, take this Moon Stone. It will help you relax more during meditation. Mage Orlan asked me to give it to you,"
Gareth said.
He handed Logan a palm-sized stone that radiated a mysterious power. Just holding it in his hand, Logan felt an unusual calmness wash over him.
This stone seemed to soothe the soul.
"The Moon Stone is a rare mineral, extremely scarce. Even I've only heard of it but never seen one before. Mage Orlan really values you,"
Gareth said again, his gaze complex as he looked at Logan.
"I will work hard to study, and thank you, Lord Gareth. Without you, neither my sister nor I would have survived this far,"
Logan said sincerely.
"Ha ha, just don't refuse when I ask for your help in the future. All right, I'm off now. Focus on your studies,"
Gareth said, relieved.
Without waiting for a reply, he turned and left.
He truly envied Logan now — an Omni-Elemental Mage valued by the 8th-rank Mage Orlan. Such a person was destined not to remain in a small place like Silvermoon City.
He could even foresee that soon, all across the Aurelia Continent, stories about Logan would be told.
After Gareth left, Logan resumed his meditation. He hated depending on others; he wanted to become strong, strong enough to control his own destiny!
Meanwhile, as Logan trained, Mage Orlan took advantage of the night to venture deep into the Forest of Perpetual Dusk.
Orlan had not come to Silvermoon City specifically for Logan. It was the recent sightings of dragons in the Forest of Perpetual Dusk that forced him to come investigate.
But obviously, he found no trace of dragons there.
Instead, he encountered people from the Church of the Radiant God, including the Archbishop Cyril himself.
