Adrian, with a lot on his mind, vacated the roof and went down to the food court to meet Akihito just as he was finishing his meal. Trying to not think about it, Adrian chose not to tell Akihito about Martyrize. They made their way to the main entrance at a slow pace, continuing to allow Adrian to examine the school. He already knew the basic layout and looks of it, this time around he focused more on the people. Not that he didn't see many of them during the speech the principal made, but this time paying attention to them in particular, as tomorrow is the school social, meant for meeting fellow students and making connections. However, the main reason for the social is to preemptively meet with your squadmates, the results of which will be posted along the walls of the main entrance according to teachers alphabetically. The pair stopped at the front door of the building.
"Where do you want to go from here? We can check out the facilities around back." Akihito asked, looking forward to showing Adrian the outdoor gym area.
"If it's alright with you, I figured I'd head back to my dorm. I'm pretty tired after today's events. I think I'll just hang out and think things over, process everything and just play some games." Adrian replied.
"I see, I get it, no worries, give me time to catch up on some paperwork, if you need anything I'll be in my office."
"Gotcha, see you tomorrow."
A little dejected but trying not to show it, Akihito went back inside to his office, Adrian went across the front of the building towards the men's dorm, checked in, and laid down upon making it to his room. As curious as he was about what teachers he'd have, his squad mates and squad leader, the only thing he could think about was Martyrize. The man's insensitive remarks didn't sit right with him, and the entire time he was around him, he couldn't shake a strange feeling about him, something that made his body physically react in a way he'd never felt. After a bit more thinking in silence, he got bored and booted up his game console and eventually went to bed after playing.
Upon waking up and getting ready, Adrian put on his uniform, white shirt, red pants, and a red blazer with the school's logo on it, a white and red eagle. He put on an eyepatch and headed to the main entrance. There he saw many students along the walls of the vestibule and hallways that immediately followed it. After a while, people started clearing out as they found their name, it took quite a bit as the students names aren't alphabetised, the teachers are and the students are grouped up under the teachers names. Once some space cleared up, Adrian began checking the papers, searching for his name. It took some time since he started at a but once making it to r, it was the first one there. The teacher's name was Tsuyoshi Ryuji, Adrian took note of his name being Japanese like Akihitos. He then looked at his squad members' names. Ida Arbeit, Emily Etienne, Jonathan Hendrickson, his own name, and Delwyn Saahh. The sheet said they're supposed to meet in room 132. After a glance at the nearby map, Adrian knew exactly how to get there and began walking. He memorized a certain path upwards, one separate from the way he and Akihito walked the day prior so he could see the school from a different angle. Upon turning a corner to reach a staircase to get to the 5th floor, he and an incoming student walked right into each other. Adrian stood tall after the collision, the girl on the other hand fell to her knees, immediately upon looking down to apologize and help her up, he saw what was immediately her most striking feature, her hair was pink. Adrian suddenly remembered Martyrize, wondering if one of the many theories he started coming up with the instant he identified the color of her hair could be true. After pausing for a moment, he continued on his original goal of assisting the girl.
As she stood up, Adrian got a better look at her. Her dark forest-like hazel eyes contrasted her vibrant pink hair, she was a couple inches shorter than Adrian, about 5'6. Naturally she was also in the school's uniform, her variant had a skirt, an article Adrian decided to skip on getting.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were there. You're not hurt are you? That was really sudden, you must've crashed into me pretty hard."
Delicately, Adrian took the girl's hand and helped her up while checking on her. She didn't seem bothered by it in the slightest, she gave off quite the aloof persona. Only once she stood up did she respond to Adrian's concerns.
"No don't worry about it, I was going down the stairs pretty quickly and I've been known to be light on my feet, the sneakers I'm wearing don't really help either. It's no big deal since you couldn't help it. Have-."
Adrian noticed she seemed to have intended to end their interaction with something along the lines of "Have a nice day", though before continuing she stopped herself.
"Actually come to think of it, while I have your attention, you wouldn't happen to know where room 132 is would you? That's where my squad is meeting up."
"Oh what a coincidence, I was heading there now, I guess we're in the same squad under Mr. Ryuji. Though I hate to tell you you're going the wrong direction. The 5th floor, the one you just got off of, room 132 is there. No worries though, I know where it is, we can walk there together."
"Ughhh I knew I messed something up, sorry for being so troubling, bumping into you then asking for directions, I'm not very good with them. To think you're in my squad as well, I promise I'm not this inept in combat."
The girl is very apologetic and regretful at her first encounter with a squad mate. Though Adrian after listening to her spiel, could only bring himself to chuckle a bit.
"Hah hah, sorry I don't mean to be rude, you just remind me of Akihito, he sucks with directions too, he uses his phone's maps no matter where he goes. Anyway, room 132 is this way. Oh sorry, I forgot to ask you your name. I'm Adrian Okabe."
"Your last name is Okabe? Could the Akihito you were talking about be the gym teacher Akihito Okabe?"
"Yea actually, he's my father, well, adoptive as you could probably imagine but regardless."
"Oh interesting, oh I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself yet either. I'm Emily Etienne."
"Etienne. Not Martyrize. That's a relief, I'd prefer to interact with that guy as little as possible." Adrian thought to himself.
The two head down the hall on the 5th floor to room 132. Upon opening the door, there were four people in the room. The only one not in a student uniform, who Adrian could only assume was Mr. Ryuji at the front desk reading. As Adrian walked to his seat, he was able to get a good look at everyone. For Mr. Ryuji, his hair reached down to his neck and was a deep black, matching his evenly dark eyes. Even when sitting down it's obvious he's tall, about 6' from the perspective of the new arrivals. The other students are spread among the room. In the front a pale, blue haired blue eyed girl sitting with good posture and her hands folded, focusing on Mr. Ryuji.
"That must be Ida, at least I assume so since I just met Emily and Ida sounds like a girl's name. Then again you can never be too sure I suppose. She seems kinda scary. Her eyes are a nice color but they look so dark and intimidating." Adrian kept to himself.
Closer to the back and on both sides were two boys. On the side of the entrance, a boy with a similar build to Adrian, possessing blonde hair and amber eyes, notably pale skin, similar to Idas, making his yellow accents contrast that much more with his body. He's sitting as if he's nervous, fiddling with his thumbs, his eyes are darting around the room. On the other side of the room there was another mood entirely. Whereas Ida looked intimidating due to her chilling gaze, this guy is just built different. He appears to be of similar height to Mr. Ryuji, he is very visibly muscular, he has an overall strong build. Black hair styled in dreadlocks, dark skin, grey eyes, he radiates an aura of strength. Resting his head against his fist, he just looks bored. After taking a look at everyone, Adrian sits between the boys. Emily takes a seat right next to him.
"It's awkward how quiet it is here. Emily and I walked in and there was no conversation whatsoever. The only livelihood is the light coming in through the windows, other than that this place is kind of a downer.
Just then as Adrian was thinking, Mr. Ryuji closed his book and stood up, picking up a marker and writing his name on the board.
"Good morning new students, now that we're all here, I think it's about time we do introductions, I'll start."
"He speaks both unenthusiastically but also energetically, his voice projects but is pretty monotonous. Actually, y'know what, this is fitting, his voice matches his appearance, I'm not shocked by this."
While Adrian took in more information on the teacher, he began to introduce himself.
"As you already know, my name is Tsuyoshi Ryuji, but the only one that's relevant to you is the latter, you can call me Mr. Ryuji. I think we should go around and share our names, school of discipline, your weapon of choice, and as many facts about you as you'd like to share, at least one, this way we can familiarize ourselves with each other. As for me, I specialize in this institution's signature style of Anti-Zombie Martial Arts as well as bladed combat. Not to get too technical with it, my weapon of choice is two mini scythes you'll see me swinging around attached to each other by a chain. Unique I know, but it works for me and you might come to find out why. As for a fact about me, my eyes turn purple under certain conditions. Now that that's out of the way, let's go from front to back, left to right. Miss in the front if you'll continue."
The blue haired girl wasted no time rising from her seat, doing so in quite a robotic way.
"Ida Arbeid, I train in the School of Water style. The weapons I use are two swords that my school manufactures, specially designed around our style. A fact about me would be that I have origins from a country called Germany."
"Emily Etienne, I practice Anti-Zombie Combat as well and use the basic tools the school provides us with, so just a regular sword. A fact about me is that I'm religious."
Adrian couldn't help but take note of that fact and play with it in his head. "Religious, interesting. Religion kind of faded away a while back ironically around when zombies showed up I hear. Alright, my turn."
"Adrian Okabe, honestly like Emily I practice Anti-Zombie Combat and use the AZ equipment. A fact about me would have to be that I clearly have an eyepatch, so I just ask you to take my lack of vision into account."
"Delwyn Saahh, I learn at the School of Lightning and use a specially modified sword. Something about me is that my mother works at this school, Ms. Saahh."
"Ms. Saahh? Oh, I guess that's after r so I wouldn't have seen it, I thought my memory was failing me for a second after looking through all those sheets." Adrian thought, relieved he hadn't yet developed amnesia.
"Jonathan Hendrickson, I don't actively practice a certain style, I train with my family. I use and ace in battle and something about me is that I enrolled here with my family."
After introductions reached their conclusion, Mr. Ryuji began talking once more.
"Good, now that we all know each other, let's get to our first activity as a team."
