어디선가 도깨비의 목소리가 들려왔어요.
From somewhere, the goblin's voice echoed.
빨간 감투를 쓴 도깨비는 나무방망이를 짚고 서 있었죠.
Wearing his crimson gamtu, the goblin stood with his wooden club.
> "이번 시련은 '거짓'을 이겨내는 것.
"This trial is about overcoming 'lies.'
너희 둘 중, 누가 제비의 날개를 부러뜨렸느냐?"
Who among you broke the swallow's wing?"
태현은 깜짝 놀라 소백을 바라보았어요.
Taehyun looked at Sobaek in surprise.
소백은 손사래를 쳤죠.
Sobaek frantically waved his hands.
> "나 아니야! 나는 그냥… 구경만 했어!"
"It wasn't me! I was just… watching!"
하지만 구석에 쪼그려 앉은 제비는 조용히 말했어요.
But the little swallow crouched in the corner whispered,
> "네가… 내 깃털을 밟았잖아."
"You… stepped on my feathers."
소백의 얼굴이 하얘졌어요.
Sobaek's face turned pale.
태현은 천천히 소백에게 다가가 말했어요.
Taehyun gently approached and said,
> "왜 그런 거야?"
"Why did you do it?"
> "...네가 보자기랑 윷 받는 거 보니까…
"…When I saw you get that bundle and yut…"
> 그냥, 질투가 났어."
I was just… jealous."
조용한 침묵이 흘렀고,
Silence fell.
도깨비는 고개를 끄덕였어요.
The goblin nodded.
> "거짓을 고백한 자는, 첫 발을 디딜 자격이 있다."
"He who confesses a lie may take the first step."
바로 그 순간!
At that very moment!
하늘에서 또 다른 보자기가 떨어졌어요.
Another cloth bundle fell from the sky.
그 안에는 윷 네 개와 편지가 들어 있었죠.
Inside were four yut sticks and a note.
> "진실의 길을 따르라.
"Follow the path of truth.
한 칸, 한 칸, 마음으로 던져라."
Throw each step with your heart."
태현과 소백은 윷을 들고,
Taehyun and Sobaek picked up the yut sticks,
초가집 앞 마당에 생긴 큰 윷판 위로 나아갔어요.
and stepped onto the giant yut board that appeared in the yard.
첫 윷말이 놓이자, 책의 두 번째 장이 열렸어요.
As the first yut was placed, the second page of the book flipped open.
그 속에는—
Inside it—
커다란 연이 바람을 가르며 하늘을 나는 모습이 그려져 있었어요.
was a giant kite soaring across the sky, riding the wind.
