As I walked back home,
down these familiar streets, which I had walked a thousand times before, I could clearly hear my heart thumping, yet my feet dragged me admist my fears
walking for quite a while, before suddenly coming to a stop, a stop which was caused by a shift in the air ,,
With a quiver I slowly lifted up my gaze, just to embrace that of an uncanny presence, which weighed on the atmosphere so heavy,so heavy that I felt if I didn't raise my head, it might break my neck
Yet fear held me to a spot, preying on me,
With a sigh , I calmed down to let the cold motion of air freely flow through my ear
......Are you scared, carama
Huuh, a gasp eluded my lips , as my face deteriorated in horror
Wh..what was that,my fingers still trembled, letting goosebumps wash over my body.
Instinctively, I turned , checking to see where the voice came from, or is possible , hear it again
But to my surprise,no one was around at that moment, no one but me, I turned a couple more times to be sure but the streets were desolate
Finally my focus was now directed to the uncanny presence
My home
Funny how such an inanimate object drove quite a reaction from me, it's great height clouding me, making me appear like a shriveled child in it's presence
With a huff, I finally decided to face this daunting object, as I walked closer to the gate,
I placed my feet at the shutters, pressing my body weight against the gate as I gave it a calm push, to my surprise,it didn't budge
I pushed it over again and again, but it didn't budge, Was I locked out?,
Continuously I kept trying to open the gate, but it didn't work, and that when I went to check to the open shutters
And at that moment , if finally came to my realization, that I was in fact locked out
"Lucky me", had to wait out for some hours before the inner bolt clicked, and the gates was finally unbarred, allowing me to see ,the one who deemed it fit , to allow my presence back into my domain
Pfft, she said , trying to stiffle in a laughter,
Look who it is ,the child prodigy
I sighed, clearly annoyed at her anticis, would you be so kind as to move out of the way, Sister
Hmm,, sure mother's waiting for you
Mother?!, I felt my heart skip
O..of course, it was only right to meet her after my mishap this morning.
Suddenly my feet began to weigh as I walked inside our facility, stepping steadily towards the visitors chamber, and in a motion, I twisted the door knob and made my way in
Tsst
I winced as the light emmiting from inside nearly took me out , with a stagger I went back, allowing my eyes to get accommodated ,only after it did, did I notice that the door I had used to"intrude'"into my home,
And in front of me were two entities, who made the atmosphere so dense, one could cut it with a knife.
My father sat at the farther end of the couch, in his hand a newspaper, it's contents seeming to be the occurrence of the events which transpired earlier this month, and in the armrest of the couch was a phone,
.... the phone, I sighed and stared at the ground, He got the call, the school administrator must've given him a call, probably complaining about my lateness
And there I stood , like a cat drenched in water, suddenly he lowered the paper which he had been holding and shifted his focus to my direction, waving his hands to me in a gesture, I slowly approached him
Why were you late, he asked, lumps clogged my throat as I tried to speak, making me fully unable to form a coheresive sentence
He stared me down, with a look, a look fully capable of pulling one to their knees and I was no exception
I overslept, I'll ensure it never happens again, sir, with my gaze dropping down to the floor I sunk my teeth into my lips, trying to create a sensation, a pain ,greater than the one growing steadily in my eye socket
For an uncomfortable amount of time, the room grew silent, yet this feeling that caused the hair in the back of my neck to rise still remained evident
Then there was the look, that look of my father's eye on me, evaluating, I couldn't help worrying
Does he now hate me, did I disappiont him
Quite suddenly,
with a heave he rose from the couch , walking closer to me, the beat of his soles drumming against the floorboards, every step closer spelt immidiate danger,
without warning his hands shot upwards, muscle tensing beneath his sleeves as his faced outward in a powerful gesture, and then, as though hitting an invisible border or limit, his hands fell back freely, it's speed greatly influenced by gravity
There my legs were transfixed at a spot, my feet glued to the floor boards as my heart continued giving up the ghost every two seconds... seeming as thou time had stopped, I kissed my eyelids together.
If i am ever to be hit by my father, he does so because he loves me, I reminded myself as his hands fell back freely, then suddenly coming to an abrupt halt, and suddenly taking the initiative to rest on my hair
His fingertips gently stroked my hair, which made a gasp to eluded my lips, as a tear finally escaped the bondage of my eyelids
With great pressure I gulped up the lumbs, which were greatly chocking me
My fingers danced, mimicking the dance of a shaken prisoner let out in the cold.
What are you doing to yourself, you're embarrassing yourself and your father, is this how to make him proud,
I stiffened as my thoughts crossly reprimanded me,my father as thou noticing my reaction, stared at me puzzled then withdrew his hands
