Chapter 307 - Weird Weapon!

Chapter 307 - Weird Weapon!

Red and white streaks blazed across the night sky, Mahiro and Vali Lucifer clashing like meteors.

Each collision was a brutal grinder, shredding the air itself.

The armies below—three factions and Old Maou Faction alike—scrambled to steer clear, giving the Two Heavenly Dragons a wide berth.

Even so, stray magicians caught in the crossfire turned to ash, their magic no match for the shockwaves.

Mahiro pulled his punches where he could, nudging the fight away from the three factions' troops.

Azazel watched, a nostalgic glint in his eyes. "Brings back memories."

The red and white dragons tearing up the battlefield echoed Ddraig and Albion's rampage during the great war.

Back then, the Heavenly Dragons didn't care who got caught in their brawl. Today's fight was smaller, but still a hell of a throwback.

"Oh, right, Mahiro!" Azazel yelled into the sky. "Heads-up—Vali can hold his Balance Breaker for three months straight, no combat needed."

"Now you tell me?" Mahiro's voice was flat, but Hyōrinmaru's slashes grew fiercer, ice trailing each swing.

He was starting to overpower Vali in close quarters, forcing the White Dragon Emperor on the defensive.

Balance Breaker duration was a measure of a host's strength. Vali had awakened Divine Dividing as a kid, trained under Azazel, a Sacred Gear guru.

His mastery was unreal—three months of Balance Breaker without fighting was a flex Mahiro couldn't match. His own Boosted Gear could last a while, but not that long.

Still, holding a Balance Breaker and fighting in one were different beasts. Mahiro was betting on outlasting Vali in a slugfest.

Azazel grinned, not sorry at all. "My bad, got distracted by Katerea's… assets. But you're holding your own, kid."

"Old man, you're done," Katerea Leviathan snarled, her demonic power crackling. "You'll vanish with this rotting world."

"Noisy, aren't you?" Azazel pulled a glowing, awl-shaped weapon from his coat. "The Dragons are going at it, so let's get this party started."

He spread six pairs of pitch-black Fallen Angel wings, soaring into the sky to face Katerea. "Show me what Ophis's juice did for you."

Bang! Their clash lit up the night, demonic power and light power colliding.

Sirzechs and Serafall picked their targets—Shalba Beelzebub and Creuserey Asmodeus.

Michael hung back, halo steady, ready to jump in if things went sideways.

Rias and Sona didn't slack either, tearing into the Old Maou Faction's magicians.

These guys weren't pushovers—each had Middle-Class strength, slinging magic with precision. But against Rias and Sona, they were outclassed.

Rias's red hair whipped like a war goddess's, her Power of Destruction surging.

Thanks to Mahiro's help, her demonic power had hit Ultimate-Class. Magicians crumbled under her crimson blasts, no chance to counter.

"When did Rias get that strong?" Sona muttered, dodging a magic bolt. As Rias's rival and friend, she knew their power was usually neck-and-neck. Now, Rias was leagues ahead.

Her eyes flicked to Mahiro, clashing with Vali. "It's gotta be him."

Sona couldn't think of another reason for Rias's sudden jump to Ultimate-Class. Fueled by competitive fire, she gripped her staff, demonic power surging as she tore through magicians with renewed ferocity.

Boom! Vali blocked Mahiro's latest slash, ice spreading across his armor. He flared his light wings, pulling back to gain distance.

"Vali, this isn't working," Albion's voice echoed from the glowing gem in his armor. "The Red Dragon Emperor's weapon—it's not a dragon-slayer, but it tears through your armor like paper. That's no ordinary blade."

"If this keeps up, it'll hit your body. The freezing and soul-binding effects will mess you up."

Albion was half-right.

"Damn?" Vali's voice was low, frustrated.

Trained by Fallen Angels, his melee skills were top-tier, enough to crush most foes.

But Mahiro was different—every swing of Hyōrinmaru forced Vali to block or dodge, and he was barely keeping up.

His silver-white armor was scarred, chunks littering the ground below. Without Divine Dividing's durability, he'd be a pincushion by now.

"Vali?" Albion's tone was worried.

"I'm fine, Albion," Vali said, his voice burning with excitement. "This guy's worth taking seriously. I was worried this Red Dragon Emperor would be a letdown, but he's the real deal."

"If melee's not cutting it, let's try range." Vali raised his hands, demonic power surging. Glowing magic circles spun around him, charging with destructive energy.
