Chapter 308 - Vali's Trump Card?

Chapter 308 - Vali's Trump Card?

Magic circles flared around Vali, each pulsing with raw demonic power, like caged beasts ready to pounce.

They glowed in every color—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, even weird shades Mahiro couldn't name.

Each hue screamed a different attribute—fire, ice, wind, you name it.

Vali's mastery was unreal.

Most would've lost control juggling that many spells, the circles collapsing into chaos.

But Vali? He wielded them like an artist.

Without his Sacred Gear, he'd still be a strong mage, maybe even Maou-Class given his Lucifer blood and long lifespan.

"Vali, don't drag this out," Albion's voice echoed from the armor's gem.

"If he boosts too much, your magic'll lose its edge."

"I've got this, Albion. Ten seconds, tops," Vali said, his grin brimming with confidence.

Boosted Gear doubled its user's strength every fifteen seconds.

Vali knew Mahiro could outpace his spells if he spammed boosts, so he wasn't wasting time.

"Mahiro, let's see you handle this—it's what I'd use on Azazel!" Vali's laugh was wild, the circles erupting in dazzling light.

Demonic power poured out, a storm of raw energy.

Silver circles spun faster, snapping open around Mahiro.

Rune-covered chains shot out, forming a cage-like barrier.

The chains crackled with demonic power, strong enough to lock down a Maou-Class.

"A space-locking spell?" Mahiro muttered.

Vali's trick felt like overkill—why bother trapping him when they were already brawling?

Azazel, dodging Katerea's staff swings, glanced up and whistled.

"Damn, Vali's pulling out the big guns. Good thing Mahiro took him, or I'd be eating those chains."

Katerea sneered, her demonic aura flaring.

"Vali's the strongest of us Old Maou descendants, even with Ophis's boost."

"Your Red Dragon Emperor's a beast in close combat, but against Vali's full power? He's toast."

"Worry about yourself," Azazel shot back.

"Thought Ophis's power would make you a threat, but you're just loud."

"Underestimating me?" Katerea roared, her attacks turning frantic, demonic power lashing at Azazel.

Sirzechs and Serafall were in similar spots, their demonic auras overwhelming Shalba and Creuserey.

The Maou were in control, their battles tilting heavily in their favor.

The air twisted, demonic power draining from the space around Vali's circles.

They weren't just using his energy—they were siphoning the ambient magic too.

A barrage of attacks—lightning, fire, wind—burst from the circles, stacking layer upon layer.

The fused spell was insane, enough to make anyone sweat.

"This'll at least rough him up," Vali said, brimming with confidence.

The torrent of magic roared toward Mahiro, a multicolored storm of destruction.

Boom!

The blast swallowed the space where Mahiro stood, demonic power shredding nearby barriers.

Residual energy sprayed outward, cracking the ground below.

"Mahiro!" Rias shouted, worry etched on her face.

She was mowing down magicians with her Power of Destruction, but this fight was out of her league.

"He'll be fine, Rias," Akeno said, her voice calm but tense, blasting a magician with a lightning bolt.

Vali smirked, admiring his handiwork.

But his grin froze as the demonic storm vanished.

At its center, Mahiro's eyes glowed, cross-shaped pupils pulsing with eerie power.

"Those eyes…" Vali's voice dropped, his confidence shaken.

The Underworld had buzzed about Mahiro's fight with Riser Phenex, where those eyes nullified demonic power.

"Thanks," Mahiro said, his voice laced with excitement.

He'd ditched his Boosted Gear helmet, revealing his face.

The Mystic Eyes needed direct contact to devour any power, and Vali had just fed them a feast.

Whoosh!

Mahiro vanished in a Shunpo flash, moving faster than Vali could track.

The White Dragon Emperor's instincts screamed danger, but he was a split-second too slow.

Mahiro appeared in front of him, Hyōrinmaru slashing down with brutal force.

The blade didn't just cut—it shattered Vali's armor, fragments spraying like shrapnel.

The sword carved into Vali's body, opening a gaping wound.

Blood sprayed, freezing into icy shards on contact with Hyōrinmaru's blade.

Vali grunted, staggering in the air, his hand clutching the wound. "Not bad, Red Dragon Emperor…"
