"Calm down, Chen Ke, I advise you against trying to rob him. Sean is the wealthiest factory owner in all of Langdon, with connections spanning the royal family and the underworld. If he sneezes, half of Langdon will shudder thrice," Jacob said, waving his finger.
"I just want my diamond, Jacob. I don't care how rich he is," Chen Ke shook his head.
"Neither do I, but I can guarantee that if Sean died, anything we try to do afterward will become much more difficult," Jacob said.
"How so?" Chen Ke asked, with his hands on his hips.
"Sean is like a big carpet that covers all the cockroaches and rats of Langdon. See, you can walk the streets in peace, and the security station can maintain the most basic order. It's all because Sean sees to it," Jacob explained.
Chen Ke gave a grunt. In every era, every region had such a person, lurking below the surface, controlling everything above it.
