Wandering through unfamiliar, narrow alleys, he realized something rather embarrassing—he was lost.
Cedric sighed, glancing around with furrowed brows. He was supposed to be on a mission assigned by Kaellion, a mission the system immediately flagged upon the new Emperor's signature.
Yet, whether due to distraction or the capital being larger than he'd anticipated, he now found himself in an unknown area. Cobblestone lanes, older, shabbier buildings than those in the city center, and people eyeing him with suspicion—this was clearly not the main route he should have been taking.
"This is the right place, right?" Cedric murmured softly, his eyes scanning the increasingly unfriendly narrow alley.
