Chapter 120 - Miku Izayoi's Thoughts

"What's with that face? What now?"

Miku Izayoi was starting to notice that Tohka was prone to acting strangely from time to time. What was it this time? She was just reading a text message.

"See for yourself. Some people really don't treat money like it matters."

Tohka rubbed her forehead helplessly and handed Tony's message over to Miku Izayoi for her to read herself.

"My god, just how rich is that guy?"

Taking the phone in confusion, Miku Izayoi was startled by what she saw.

Now she finally understood what Deadpool meant earlier—

That guy was seriously rich.

"So that means… this amusement park belongs to you now?"

Reading that, Miku Izayoi couldn't help but glance around.

She didn't know the exact value, but judging by the facilities and visitor traffic, it had to be worth at least tens of millions of dollars.

And yet that guy just gave it away without blinking.

"Whatever. That's something to deal with later. Come on, let's just go play." But Tohka didn't care about that.

She could already picture how Tony would drag her off to recharge his tech every few days.

"Awesome! That means we can play all we want!"

Now knowing the amusement park belonged to Tohka, Miku Izayoi cried out in excitement.

Tohka, on the other hand, was speechless.

Couldn't they have played freely even before this?

"Wait for me! You're totally breaking character right now!"

Calling out, Tohka quickly caught up with Miku Izayoi.

She knew Miku just wanted to let loose today, but did she really have to be this excited?

"Look at this one! And that one!…"

…..

That night, the two didn't rush back to New York.

After all, the city had just gone through a huge battle.

It was still recovering—especially Manhattan.

Restoration efforts were still underway—especially in Manhattan, where thanks to the Graviton, water and power supply had become a problem.

And traffic in the surrounding areas had become even more of a mess than usual.

So, rather than return, Tohka and Miku found a nearby hotel and checked in.

Neither of them had anything urgent to do anyway.

"By the way, now that you're here, what are you planning to do? Are you going to go to school with me, or something else?"

In the hotel room, Tohka lay lazily on her bed, watching Miku do her hair.

Originally, Tohka wanted to book two single rooms, but Miku strongly objected, so they got a double.

Still, what Tohka really cared about was what Miku planned to do.

After all, staying idle for too long was never good.

"Um… about that..."

Hearing Tohka's question, Miku Izayoi suddenly paused.

Then her body trembled slightly—clearly, she hadn't completely moved on from her past world.

"Ah—uh, sorry! I didn't mean to pry. I just wanted to know what you wanted to do so I could help make arrangements... I'm sorry!"

Seeing Miku's subtle shiver, Tohka panicked.

She thought she had touched on a painful memory.

She was well aware of what Miku had gone through, and now she deeply regretted asking.

"It's fine, Tohka.

"It's okay, Tohka. I knew I'd have to face it eventually."

But Miku quickly pulled herself together and turned to Tohka with a faint smile.

"Whew, I see. Well, I've already asked Tony to get you enrolled at my school. That way we can go to school together! By the way, were you in high school or middle school before?" Tohka breathed a sigh of relief, then asked excitedly.

At this age, even if you didn't want to, school was the default path.

And since this wasn't China, and because of her own unique situation, school was just fun to her.

Her grades weren't the best—thanks to hanging out with Spider-Man's crowd—but definitely not bad.

"Wait… is that school a high school or a middle school?"

Hearing that, Miku Izayoi asked, still a little confused.

Although her past experiences had deeply hurt her, she'd bounced back quickly in this world thanks to Tohka.

She still didn't like men, but she wasn't outright repulsed anymore—at least not to the point of enrolling in an all-girls school.

"High school."

Tohka answered without thinking.

"...…"

Miku's face twisted into an expression worse than crying.

"What's wrong? What happened now?"

Tohka was startled again, but quickly remembered—

In her memory, Miku hadn't done well in school.

She was still in middle school back in Japan, and now Tohka was dragging her straight into high school.

"It's nothing. If that's the case, I'll go to high school."

Miku Izayoi gave a smile of resignation—like she'd given up on life—but she didn't reject Tohka's suggestion.

"Uh, alright then."

Hearing her response, Tohka lowered her head and tapped a few times on her phone screen—

Clearly sending Tony a message to confirm enrollment. After all, this still had to be officially approved.

"Hey, Tohka, I want to ask a favor."

At that moment, Miku Izayoi suddenly looked shy and spoke softly.

Her big eyes looked pitiful as she stared at Tohka.

"Mm? What is it? As long as I can do it, I'll definitely help you!"

Faced with Miku's expression, Tohka was instantly overwhelmed by cuteness and answered without hesitation.

"Um... I want to try becoming a big star in this world."

This wasn't just vanity—

This wasn't Miku being dramatic—she had suffered enough back in the entertainment world without a powerful backing.

And even though she hadn't been in this world long, she could already tell Tohka had some serious influence behind her.

So, asking her for help was clearly the best option.

After all, she had only just gained her powers and hadn't fully adapted to her new mindset yet.

And after witnessing that intense battle, she didn't believe her own powers could let her do whatever she wanted here.

"Huh? You want to sing again?"

Tohka was momentarily stunned.

She hadn't expected that request at all.

But after thinking about it, it made sense—

Even in the original story, Miku had continued her music career.
