Zoey, with tears in her eyes and a pale face, was clearly frightened. She instinctively shook her head and said, "Kevin, thank you."
"As long as you're okay," Kevin looked her over, seeing that her school uniform was intact. He guessed the hooligans hadn't dared to do anything more than talk dirty.
"Let's go. I'll walk you home." Zoey Jackson nodded and took a few steps with Kevin before stopping and bursting into tears. She had twisted her ankle during the struggle so she couldn't walk.
"What should we do? I don't have a bike to carry you." Kevin appeared troubled as he looked around but found no one else. After a moment of hesitation, he said, "How about I carry you on my back?" Kevin wasn't trying to take advantage of Zoey, he just wanted to get her home quickly. Who knew if those hooligans would come back? Kevin didn't fear them but didn't want unnecessary complications.
Zoey blushed, looking at Kevin with some embarrassment before shyly nodding.
