"Mira, you have your breakfast before the ceremony starts."
Hearing her remind me of the ceremony made my blood boil. I couldn't believe that my mate would be sent out of the pack. I sighed deeply and moved over to the floor table to eat my breakfast and that was when my thoughts deviated to Liam.
"Mom, why is Liam called an immortal?" I asked. But my mom's sudden widened eyes made me understand that the word 'immortal' was not meant to be said out. So she instantly covered my mouth with her left palm.
"shuu…Mira don't put yourself in trouble." My mom pleadedin the lowestest whisper.
"I was just curious and I thought it'd be a good thing to ask."
"You'll have to find another mate, Mira. The immortal is very dangerous and I don't not want to see you anywhere near the tunnel he is kept in." My mother replied with a hint of warning and it seemed as though she was aware of my movements yesterday and I knew only one person could have informed her.
"Ok mom." I ate up my breakfast hurriedly to go see my father in his mountain where he usually went to pray. I knew he was the only one who could help me at this state.
"I'm off, mom."
"Where to?" My mom asked with her eyebrows furrowed slightly.
"Don't worry, somewhere far away from his tunnel." I replied and rushed out immediately.
I felt really aggravated that my mother would actually suggest that I found another werewolf to replace Liam. But I wouldn't…
I just couldn't…
I found my father sitted in his usual position on the mountain and I reached out to hand him some water.
"Father, you must be thirsty and tired." I said with a bland smile.
He smiled knowingly and said, "Child, tell to me what exactly has brought you here."
Hearing his words I knew that he would have already foreseen my reason for coming. I bit my lower lip slightly and summoned all courage to speak as I glanced down at my father's white hair.
"Father, I'm here because I want to help my mate no matter the cost. He really doesn't know what he's doing, can't he be spared just this once?." I asked as I continued to look down at him to show my seriousness.
"With great power they say comes great responsibility." My father replied plainly.
"Father, please explain further what you mean." I pleaded, not satisfied with the reply he gave to me.
"Your mate needs to discover himself before he can understand the gravity of that that is in him." He said and arose.
"And you can help him with that!" He added and finally accepted the jar of water I had presented to him.
"Go now child, you are the only one he will listen to now that his mother, the Luna is dead." He walked into his work cave where he usually performed his spells and meditations.
Thinking heavily about what he had just said, a wave of sadness washed over me.
I knew very well that Liam never listened to me rather he had seeked different ways to terminate our mate bond.
But I found myself not caring much about it, rather my sole focus was on saving Cridwan from the future tragedy that would behold.
But all I could do was try…
I said my goodbyes to my dad and headed to the water fall to get some water and some fish for Liam aas I knew he would be famished as he was give neither food nor water.
"Well, well, well…if it isn't the mate of the immortal." The girls chuckled as they mocked.
I recognized Sila with her minions a little distance away as I approached the waterfall. I decided to ignore their sarcasms and continue my task to get some water and fish.
"Looks like she's preparing some breakfast for her darling mate." One of the girls said.
Still, I ignored them…
"I swear I will report to the council if you dare to go against the rule, which is?" Sila said as she turned giggling at a girl next to her, waiting for her reply.
"That no werewolf or witch should dare to feed the immortal!" The girl replied and Sila high fived her.
They turned back evilly to me and at that minute I realized that I had to better keep my guard down as I had so many opponents and they would do anything to bring me down.
"Just so you know, we are here to make your life here in Cridwan a living hell..oh sorry I meant a road to hell.." The girls chuckled as they turned around to walk away and I was definitely glad to see them leave, then I began to strategize my plan on how I would get the meal to him without anyone noticing.
I remembered Karl and wondered if he would help me if I also got some raw fish for him.
I thought for a long while because gathering all the fishes and filling a slightly big jaw with a lot of water, then I headed back home to get everything prepared.
As I predicted, Karl let me in after using raw fish to bribe him. Sometimes I wonder why werewolves and vampires were incredibly evil and dreadful creatures, while the demons were the total addition.
I walked steadily into the tunnel and sighted Liam sitting on the rest that formed a stone bed.
"I brought in some food for you." I said and placed the jar and basket of fish in front of him.
"You really didn't have to!" He said not when turning to spare a glance at him.
"The Execution is in three days Liam, and I really want to make you understand that we really need you in the park Liam. Forget the immortality stuff and let's focus on the future, our future.." I said and hoped my words would touch him even slightly.
But his reply…
"Can't you get some sense into what I have been saying? I am not interested in this part of the world and that is the true fact." He paused to sit up.
"I really do not care about the Execution or this pack, Mira!" He yelled.
Since the Execution was in three days I realized that he must have accepted his fate.
Since the exception was in three days I realized that he must have accepted his fate
