While Margaret finished up with breakfast, I tended to the babies, getting all the help I could get from Leonard which, believe me, was no help.
All he did was to carry Lennox, and walk around the room with him, leaving me to tend to the other kids on my own. But I was grateful for his presence which meant more to me than anything.
After bathing all three, which was no small feat, I fed both Laurel and Levi while Leonard fed Lennox. They were not crying anymore so the rest of us had time to ourselves to think. I busied my mind with thoughts of Clark in police custody, and wondered why I wasn't extremely happy with the newest development. Judging from how much I had fantasized about this day, it was really strange that I would grow apathetic.
"He is sleeping." Leonard announced a little while later, heading for the crib. I breathed in relief, happy to release one of the other children to him. The position I held them was way too uncomfortable for me.
