Chapter 32 - Pillow Fight

The night had started innocent enough. Just the two of them, lounging on the living room floor with snacks, a stack of bad movies, and a blanket too small for two full-grown bodies—especially when one of them was a constantly jiggling slime girl who insisted on using Mirio as a pillow.

Lily had been humming softly, her body half-melted across his lap in a lazy puddle, when the first pillow hit.

It wasn't even hard.

Just a soft, playful plop to her cheek.

She blinked.

Then slowly turned her head toward him, her glow dimming like a storm cloud forming.

"…Hubby."

He smirked. "Yes, Lily?"

"You… just attacked me."

"I nudged you."

"With a pillow."

"Correct."

"An unprovoked pillow."

"You were oozing on the remote."

Her eyes narrowed. "You dare start war."

She didn't wait for a declaration.

With a wet fwomp, she raised one arm—already morphing into a squishy, tentacle-shaped battering ram—and brought it down across his shoulder with a dramatic splat of fluff.

"Ow—!" he yelped, mostly surprised. "Okay, truce, truce—!"

"Too late!" she cackled. "The tentacle queen accepts your challenge!"

From her shoulders erupted three more slender, flexible tentacle appendages, each ending in a soft pillow-like mound formed from her own gel. They flailed dramatically in the air before latching onto whatever cushions were within range.

Mirio dove for the couch. "You had this prepped?!"

"I've always had this prepped!" she howled, bouncing toward him with her tentacles spinning like helicopter blades. "Slime warfare activated!"

He grabbed a couch pillow and blocked the first strike, but two more tentacles wrapped around his sides and booped him in the ribs.

"Stop—hitting—me—there—!" he gasped between laughs, swatting her with the pillow in hand.

But it bounced harmlessly off her soft, gelatinous side. She giggled as the pillow slid off and got absorbed slightly into her hip. "I'm immune to soft attacks~!"

"Oh yeah?" he growled, grabbing the backup pillow from behind a chair.

Lily reared back, her tentacle-hair coiling in preparation. "Hubby activated dual wield mode…"

"Bring it on."

The next ten minutes were chaos.

Mirio darted between furniture as Lily rolled, bounced, and pounced across the apartment. Her body wobbled with every leap, her pillows flying like soft cannons. She'd shift her form mid-air, firing tentacle lashes that slapped the pillows across the room at high speed. Her aim was uncanny—he was hit in the face, shoulder, back, then thigh in rapid succession.

"You're cheating!" he shouted.

"I'm evolving!" she chirped, sprouting two extra arms made entirely of slime and stuffing pillows into each one.

One slapped him so hard it left a visible outline of jelly on his T-shirt.

Another one knocked over a lamp.

"You're going to break something!"

"You already broke my heart when you threw the first pillow, hubby~!"

He managed to tackle her from behind—sort of. His arms wrapped around her waist and they both collapsed into a squishy heap on the carpet, giggling and panting.

"Truce," he gasped. "Seriously. I surrender. The couch is yours."

"No mercy for the guilty," she moaned with delight, melting backward into him.

He suddenly found his arms trapped, his torso sinking into her thick slime body.

"Lily, wait—"

She sprouted a fifth tentacle and gently pressed a pillow against his face.

Fwump.

Then another against his chest.

Another behind his knees.

Another at the small of his back.

He groaned, completely pinned beneath a living weighted blanket of goo.

She purred. "Hubby defeated. I claim the throne of soft~"

He couldn't move, couldn't even sit up. Her mass had completely molded around his shape like a body-shaped beanbag chair. He was stuck.

But also… kind of comfortable.

"…You're lucky you're adorable."

She leaned in and rubbed her cheek to his. "You started this."

"And you escalated it into an international incident."

She giggled and nuzzled closer. "Maybe I wanted to be punished."

"Not the time for slime flirting."

"Every time is slime flirting."

He sighed, giving in completely as she swaddled him tighter, using her own chest as a wobbly headrest for him.

"You win," he muttered.

"I know."

He yawned. "So what's your reward?"

Her body pulsed with a soft glow as she whispered, "I get to sleep on you all night~"

"You already do that."

"Then I get to do it again~"

And just like that, Lily claimed victory not only in the pillow war—but in cuddling supremacy.

He didn't even last five minutes before falling asleep under the fluffiest, warmest, giggliest blanket imaginable.
