Jake is at school because they have a seminar. During the students' semester break, a seminar is held to enhance their teaching skills.
He quietly listened to the speakers then, unable to prevent his mind from wandering due to the information he was reading. Time passes swiftly; it's already election season, and he understands that violence escalates as the campaign period draws near.
However, he planned to use the campaign period as an opportunity to move around freely and gather evidence against them.
The Fuego family, particularly the father of the twins, Felisa and Chesca, is one of the most influential political families in that area; they are beloved by the local people and likely use their second form to gain many followers.
He could only sigh back then. He vividly recalls the moment when the murders of the two twins and the disappearance of Mikaela and Chesca made headlines. He also used his power to hide the truth, despite rumors connecting the deaths of his first and second wives and his kids. The funny thing is, he even gained the sympathy of the public.
He just shakes his head when he thinks about it; it seems to have become a way for people to love him more for his political run. His father even gave them a proper burial, and there were also rescuers searching for the two young women back then.
He didn't realize that he was the only one in the room, lost in his deep thoughts.
He stepped out of the room to get some fresh air.
I wonder how they are doing. He suddenly asked himself, while thinking about how Chesca was doing there.
Even if he was against it, there was nothing he could do but support whatever she wanted to do. In his mind, he still couldn't fully grasp that Thalia was there.
What can the children do there? This will only get them into trouble and become a problem.
What he is still worried about is Giovane, his cousin. So far, the evidence he is seeking remains very elusive.
What he remains concerned about is his cousin, Giovane. To this point, the evidence he seeks continues to be quite elusive. I am aware of Giovane's every action; I can hardly believe the images I viewed earlier. He simply shook his head in response. Jake felt a tap on his shoulder and promptly turned to identify the person who had tapped him. He just shook his head then.
Jake felt someone tap his shoulder, so he immediately turned to see who had tapped him.
Only the smile of a fellow teacher greeted him; she didn't even say a word. The fellow teacher left immediately, and a moment later, his personal phone suddenly rang. He frowned when he saw that the number was unregistered. So, he decided to answer the call.
He didn't speak then; the line was silent. He even waited for someone to speak on the other end.
"H --- Hello?" He heard a man's voice on the other end of the line.
"Yes?" he replied.
"Is this Sir Jake?" he asked.
He just frowned. "Yes, speaking." He answered. "Why?" he asked on the other line.
He heard another sigh. "Ah, sir, this is Castro. I just have a question for you."
It immediately registered in his mind that the subject was one of his students.
"Yes?" Did you call? Is that important?" he immediately asked.
They discussed the unfinished activities during the kids' break, and he inquired about the return date for classes.
"Thank you so much, Sir Jake." Thank him on the other line.
He weakly nodded, "Welcome."
Then he immediately ended the call. He just shook his head. He will never really stop being a teacher. Even when the kids are on vacation, Jake still becomes and remains a teacher. He doesn't hate being a teacher to the youth of the new generation.
He also returned to the faculty, where his colleagues were happily chatting, so he sat down at a quiet table.
He took one of his phones; it had missed calls and texts, so he was surprised and couldn't help but frown. He is checking who is calling him and texting him.
His lips parted as he read the messages. He received these messages from Felix and other anonymous individuals within the organization. He just scratched his forehead.
What? He questioned in his mind.
Not only was Thalia there, but also Ericka? Jake questioned in his mind.
He read Felix's text, which stated that it is inevitable for hearts seeking answers to meet.
Jake immediately left the faculty, carrying his phone, and called Felix.
He didn't have to wait long; he answered right away.
"What do you mean that Ericka is there?" he immediately asked Felix.
He heard a sigh. "Jake, you can't stop fate from bringing their paths together." Calmly, Felix replied to him.
"No, no," he exclaimed, shaking his head in disbelief. "Do you know that those kids are still minors? I understand that Chesca and Thalia will meet, but does that also include Ericka?" he asked his companion.
"Believe me or not, Jake. I really want to bring Thalia here, but I know how my sister is, Jake." He replied to him.
"Are you aware that taking care of those children is a significant responsibility for us?" He asked, trying to suppress the surprise and annoyance in his voice.
"Jake," he just sighed. "Like I said before, we need to trust them." He said to him.
He didn't reply anymore, so he hung up the call from his colleagues.
He made his way back to the room where the seminar was taking place. Now, his mind has become even more chaotic during the seminar, which had so many questions in it before.
