Chapter 54 - CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE

"How are you?" Vince suddenly asked Thalia, who was quietly observing the scenery while drinking milk.

"I'm okay." Thalia answered briefly.

Vince looked at it. Should I tell her what happened last night? He wondered in his mind whether he should share what happened when the two almost got into trouble, and fortunately, they saw it right away that night.

He put down the coffee he was drinking and blew on his hot coffee. He took a sip.

"Yesterday," he began his story.

Vince immediately caught the attention of Thalia, so they turned to him, quietly observing him.

"Chesca and Ericka almost got into trouble."

He even saw her furrow her brow and look at him in confusion.

"Did Ericka and Chesca almost get into trouble?" Thalia asked if she heard correctly what he was saying.

He simply nodded as confirmation.

"Did the two of them meet?" Thalia then asked him.

He only nodded in response back then.

"Why?"

"They nearly came into sight yesterday, and the boss's son was present." He sipped his coffee and tasted its conflicting sweetness and bitterness, which made him stare at his brewed coffee.

"Where do those two go?" She appeared to have overlooked the milk that was awaiting consumption.

He sighed, regretting that he had shared this information with the person in front of him.

"They're just resting for now in that hut; you know the places over there." He said, reminding Thalia further.

She nodded back.

"Ericka doesn't know Chesca's true identity yet, Thalia."

Thalia didn't answer him, her face showing concern.

"If you and Chesca, along with Ericka, meet, will you be able to face them, Thalia?" Vince asked his companion, who was staring into space, still deep in thought, clearly surprised by his question.

She couldn't respond immediately; her thoughts deepened even more.

"I know that Ericka is seeking justice because of what happened to Jasmin."

"I will help them." This was her only answer.

"How will you help each other, Thalia?" He asked Thalia again with a firm question.

"Brother Felix said, Everything happens, whether we like it or not; destiny approaches on its own and cannot be stopped." Thalia replied to him, who was still staring at him.

"I will do everything within my power to assist them. We want to understand the events that connected our fates." Thalia speaks in a serious tone and sounds sad.

He acknowledged that the young woman was open-minded; however, he wished she would stop searching for and uncovering evidence. He was afraid that as she got closer to the truth, her life would be in even greater danger.

However, as he listened to his companion's explanation, Thalia's resolve intensified.

Surrendered to her reasons? Well, we, Blanco and Tejero, were really born with stubborn heads. Vince could only say to himself.

It's like thinking about the man he always interacts with, Felix; he really inherited that from their tough and always searching nature.

It's accurate to say that today's youth exhibit a distinct impulsiveness, unstoppable once they make a decision.

He drank the rest of his coffee. He just ruffled his cousin's hair.

"After that, go inside for a while. Just a reminder, don't rush your destiny. As they say, wait for the right time. I know you also want to see the two of them, especially Chesca, but I always say to you, Always be careful with your actions." After saying those words, he immediately went inside the house.

He even saw his sibling cooking so they could eat. He just smiled then, went back to his room, and started thinking there. Now, he will take a break for a while.

He still can't forget what happened last night. Many thoughts are running through Vince's mind, and the plans that have long been laid out, which are just waiting for the right time, will be ruined.

He heard that Jenny, Thalia's sister, was traveling to the past.

There will undoubtedly be a revelation of the truth about what actually occurred. He just sighed.

His ability suddenly visited him.

He found himself in a crowded place. He saw that there were protests; people were shouting in front of the municipality back then.

He couldn't see the people around him, and he couldn't hear them either. Gradually, his hearing is becoming clearer.

He couldn't understand the deafening shouts, but he realized that they were shouting for justice and equality in the eyes of the people. There are many placards and posters present.

A loud explosion erupted, seemingly knocking him down with its force. The people there were in chaos.

Soon after, he saw many people getting hurt; he saw a body mangled with its entrails spilling out.

He was taken to a quiet place; he saw the men dressed in barongs.

"Is it over?" he heard a man in all black ask.

His companion nodded. He frowned because he knew the man who bombed the municipality.

"Well, it will be easier to convince the people now."

He even saw him hand over an envelope; he knew what was inside the envelope given to the man in black.

He returned to his bed then, pressing his forehead. The dream that was shown to him would happen soon; he would confirm what he dreamed, and it might help them again. They also need to be careful and not act hastily, because the eyes that once watched them are still vigilant.

He couldn't fall asleep again, so he got up and went outside their house. Their house was hushed. He searched for his cigarette and lit it with his lighter.

He stepped outside for a moment, exhaling a puff of smoke from the cigarette he was smoking.
