Chapter 75 - Chapter 75: Tousen Kaname Is Killed, The New Human Way Pain

"131313..."

Tousen Kaname knelt halfway on the ground, coughing uncontrollably. With every cough, blood spilled from his mouth.

"My Bankai… it's broken again…"

Ichimaru Gin's eyelid twitched. Without thinking, he instinctively aimed his sword, Shinsō, at Nanaya.

But then he saw it—the purple Rinnegan.

Nanaya's cold, merciless eyes locked onto him. Gin felt a chill run down his spine. Something was very wrong. He quickly jumped back.

Susanoo's massive blade swung through the air again.

The pressure from the swing was so intense it tore off another layer of scorched earth from the execution grounds.

Gin felt his scalp tingle in fear.

If he hadn't dodged in time, that sword would've sliced him in half.

Susanoo's sword, combined with Nanaya's mastery of swordsmanship, had become truly terrifying. This power was beyond what a regular captain could handle.

Only someone like Aizen Sōsuke or old man Yamamoto could go head-to-head with this monster.

After that one swing, Nanaya didn't bother chasing Gin.

Although Gin and Tousen were both Aizen's allies, Gin was clearly much stronger than Tousen.

So far, Gin hadn't even used his Bankai.

Tousen, coughing up more blood, barely managed to stand. He used Shunpo and tried to escape toward Aizen.

Nanaya gave a cold smirk. Susanoo's giant hand reached out toward him.

"Trying to run? Don't kid yourself. Just become my puppet already. I still need a captain-level Pain."

The Pain Six Paths he used before were just artificial skeletons, powered by his own spiritual energy.

But using a real captain as material? That would automatically give the new Pain captain-level power, with no extra effort.

"You want to make me your puppet!?"

Tousen's face turned pale. He remembered the terrifying Pain Six Paths Nanaya controlled.

If he became one of them, not even death would bring peace. That would be worse than dying.

Gritting his teeth, Tousen raised his right hand toward Susanoo's full form. His spiritual energy surged as he roared and chanted:

"O pride of the heavens, iron wall! Dragon strides, lion roars, tiger growls, wolf runs—cut off the world before it collapses!!!"

"Bakudō #81: Splitting Void!!"

A huge transparent barrier appeared in mid-air like glass.

Without wasting a moment, Tousen turned and ran for his life—rolling, crawling, and looking nothing like the dignified captain he once was.

But—

With one powerful swing, Susanoo's giant hand shattered the barrier like it was nothing.

Nanaya sneered. "You're too weak. Even with Bakudō #81, you can't use it to its full power."

Among the Gotei 13 captains, Tousen and Komamura Sajin were near the bottom in strength.

If not for the Hollow incident a hundred years ago, they wouldn't have become captains at all.

Susanoo's enormous hand, darkening the sky, closed in again.

Tousen's eyes filled with fear. He looked toward Aizen and cried out:

"Captain Aizen! Save me!"

His Bankai was gone. His Bakudō had failed. He had nothing left to defend himself against Susanoo.

But Aizen didn't even blink.

He glanced at Tousen briefly, then looked away, more focused on the Hōgyoku.

He casually sliced down Tendō Pain—his own replica—and reached for the glowing blue orb.

Tousen's heart sank.

"No! I can't die yet! I haven't seen the light… I haven't taken my revenge… I can't die here—!"

CRASH!

Susanoo's hand slammed down with a thunderous impact.

The blow left deep cracks across the ruined ground.

When the massive hand lifted, Tousen's body was crushed into the earth, bloodied and broken—no longer breathing.

His eyes were still wide with fear and regret, but his life had ended.

"Tousen Kaname… is dead?"

The other captains stared at his corpse, their expressions complicated.

He was the only captain killed in this invasion.

And he died horribly.

But no one could blame Nanaya. Tousen's betrayal had been obvious.

Susanoo slowly vanished.

Nanaya stepped up to Tousen's body and said coldly, "You may have been a captain, but you're not good enough to be the next Deva Path. You'll be the Human Path."

In his mind, only someone like Byakuya Kuchiki was worthy of becoming the Deva Path.

The Human Path, one of the Six Paths of Pain, focused on gathering information and close combat—perfect for someone like Tousen.

His Bankai, Suzumushi Tōgyoku: Enma Cricket, was ideal for this role.

Nanaya conjured several black rods in his hand, then casually stabbed them into Tousen's body to stabilize his spiritual particles.

A few more tweaks, and the new Human Path would be ready.

In fact, this new Pain might become the strongest of all six—for now.

"You bastard… Travel Disaster…"

Komamura Sajin had regained consciousness. His eyes were wide with fury as he glared at Nanaya.

If he weren't so badly injured, he would've attacked to avenge his fallen friend.

"Shut up."

Nanaya glanced coldly at Komamura. "Isn't this guy a traitor from your own Seireitei?"

"Don't give me that look—unless you want to die."

0…Please give me flowers…

"Oh, right. I'm also interested in your Black Rope Heavenly Punishment King. You're definitely qualified to become my Hell's Pain puppet."

Komamura Sajin trembled with rage, nearly letting out a roar.

But no one paid attention to him.

All the captains had their eyes locked on Aizen Sōsuke, fury burning in their expressions. Without hesitation, they charged forward.

"Aizen! What the hell are you trying to do, you bastard!?"

"A bunch of fools," Nanaya muttered, shaking his head.

He had warned them countless times—not to attack Aizen Sōsuke as a group.

But maybe they had lived too long. Maybe they were too full of themselves. Either way, they completely ignored his warnings.

(TLnote-bro called them old)

Nanaya couldn't be bothered to care. Quietly, he continued preparing Tousen Kaname's body.

After inserting the last of the black rods, Nanaya clapped both hands to the ground and shouted:

"Summoning Technique: King of Hell!"

A massive, terrifying statue of the King of Hell erupted from the ground. Its enormous mouth opened wide, and with a lashing tongue, it pulled Tousen Kaname's body inside and began chewing.

As the body was devoured, Nanaya could feel it—Human Path Pain was taking shape.

Not only did it have the abilities of the Human Path…

But now it also contained a captain's level of Reiatsu, Shikai, and even Bankai.

"Aizen!!!"

Hitsugaya Tōshirō roared and charged with Daiguren Hyōrinmaru raised high.

"Thousand Years of Ice Prison!"

Byakuya Kuchiki extended his right hand, his voice cold and firm:

"Scatter—Senbonzakura Kageyoshi!"

Kyoraku Shunsui joined in, chanting:

"Bakudō #75: Five Iron Pillars!"

More and more Shinigami stepped in.

Even old man Yamamoto swung his blade without hesitation, shouting:

"Ennetsu Jigoku!"

Faced with this massive joint assault…

Aizen Sōsuke stood calmly, holding the Hōgyoku in his left hand. With a faint smile, he slowly drew his sword.

"Shatter—Kyōka Suigetsu."

Invisible waves pulsed through the air.

And in the very next moment, the Shinigami saw something terrifying.

Ice, fire, sakura petals, lightning—every element seemed to converge and strike Aizen all at once.

But then… something strange happened.

Their vision blurred.

In the blink of an eye, their expressions changed.

They realized, in horror, that their powers were hitting the wrong target.

Ice, petals, Kidō—all were striking Yamamoto.

And Yamamoto's fire was sweeping toward them.

"This is bad!"

Byakuya's face turned pale.

But it was too late to stop it.

BOOM!!!

A deafening explosion echoed through the battlefield.

All the captains who had attacked were blown backward, wounded and burned, their white haori cloaks reduced to ashes.

Even Yamamoto was badly hurt—more fresh wounds adding to his already scarred body.

One by one, the captains looked up, their faces twisted with pain and rage.

And they glared at the one responsible.

"Aizen Sōsuke… you bastard!! Come out and face us!!"
