"Are you going?" Jeffrey asked.
Rachel nodded. "Yeah, but..." she hesitated, "do you wanna come with me?"
He paused to think. "I have to work on New Year's Eve. My boss said we'd get triple pay. How about this, just give me the address, and I'll come find you on New Year's Day."
"Alright," Rachel agreed, then bit her lip and hesitated again. "But when you come with me, some relatives might not be that nice. Don't let it get to you."
Jeffrey smiled slightly. "Don't worry, I won't mind."
Right now, the only thing he cared about was her.
As the New Year got closer, the streets started to empty out. A lot of people had already gone back to their hometowns.
Rachel's mom's hometown was a small town near Shen City, not that far away. It only took like an hour and a half by bus, so getting tickets wasn't that hard.
While she was booking the tickets, Rachel asked, "Do you have your ID? I'll get you a ticket too."
