Auntie was trying her best to persuade Madam Larson.
After all, her father and two brothers had promised her she'd get $3,000 out of the $30,000 deal.
That $3,000 was like her whole year's salary!
But no matter how much Auntie and Master Larson tried to convince her, Madam Larson just wouldn't agree.
Finally, Auntie threw down a harsh ultimatum:
"Mom, Big Brother and Second Brother said if you ruin this deal and our nephews can't buy a house or get married, they'll blame you for the rest of their lives!"
Madam Larson was both angry and anxious. "You... you have no conscience. Have you forgotten how Rachel used to treat us?"
Auntie chuckled, "Mom, the past is the past, and now is now. You can't destroy our whole family's future just for one person. Besides, if our nephews can't get married, it's partly Rachel's fault. Good families don't want to marry into a family with someone who's been to jail. And without a house, it's even more impossible."
