"Has Weapon X-11 been activated yet!?"
Stryker swallowed hard and immediately snatched up his radio, barking into it toward the lab side.
"Sir, activation successful!"
Hearing the response, Stryker finally exhaled in relief.
As long as Weapon X-11 was up and running—even that freakish mutant wouldn't be a problem.
Because Weapon X-11... was even more of a freak.
This was a mutant hybrid combining Wolverine's regenerative healing, enhanced Adamantium claws, Cyclops's optic blasts, and teleportation—and possibly even more.
It was Stryker's ultimate trump card.
Sure, those earlier cannon fodder mutants hadn't stalled Alex for long, but at least they'd bought him enough time to activate X-11.
"Deploy it!"
Stryker practically shouted into the system, punching in the command.
The humanoid figure, who'd been standing on the test platform like a lifeless puppet, suddenly lifted its head.
With heavy, precise steps, Weapon X-11 began marching out of the lab.
Excitement and anticipation lit up Stryker's face.
Let's see how his ultimate creation handled that monster.
---
"Weapon X-11?"
Alex raised an eyebrow.
So after killing Wade, Stryker cooked up a brand-new Deadpool?
If memory served, the original Deadpool had also been codenamed Weapon X-11.
The question was: how did this version compare to the old "Merc with a Mouth"?
Interesting.
Stryker had looked like he was about to wet himself moments ago, but the moment this new Deadpool went online, he regained his confidence like a veteran gambler doubling down.
That alone said a lot about X-11's strength.
A flicker of curiosity crossed Alex's face.
Hopefully, this upgraded Deadpool could actually give him a bit of a challenge.
Without sparing a glance at the trembling Silver Fox, Alex turned and strode down the corridor.
---
"Hoo..."
Only when Alex's figure completely vanished into the tunnel did Silver Fox dare to breathe again.
Thank God.
Alex hadn't laid a hand on her, which surprised her a little—but then again, he hadn't needed to. Just standing there had been enough to make her feel like a mountain was pressing down on her chest.
In all her life, she'd never seen a mutant this terrifying.
But suddenly, her eyes hardened.
Now's the time.
Stryker's base was in total chaos. That freakishly powerful mutant had thrown everything into disarray.
This was her chance—the perfect moment to sneak in and rescue her sister.
As for trusting Stryker to keep his word?
That was a joke.
Without wasting another second, Silver Fox turned and sprinted away.
In the blink of an eye, the corridor was empty—except for the corpses of the mutants Alex had slaughtered, lying "peacefully" on the ground.
---
CLANG!
The heavy metallic screech of a blast door echoed.
In another corridor, the reinforced gate slowly rose—revealing a cold, sharp figure standing behind it.
Muscular, deadly, and radiating lethal intent.
The figure locked eyes with Alex and spoke in a mechanical, emotionless tone:
"You are my target."
---
"Stryker didn't sew your mouth shut?" Alex scoffed.
"Then this isn't a real Deadpool. Just another soulless knockoff."
Without waiting for a reply, his eyes flared red—
Zzzzt!
Twin beams of heat vision blasted straight toward the new Deadpool.
But X-11 didn't flinch. His own eyes suddenly glowed red—
And fired back.
Twin optic blasts clashed in mid-air, slamming into each other with raw, sizzling power.
The two beams locked in a searing standoff—red energy colliding with red, hissing and crackling as they vied for dominance.
---
"YES!"
Stryker punched the air in triumph from behind the monitors.
Deadpool didn't let him down!
Cocky bastard thought he was untouchable?
Well, let's see how he handles this.
Stryker was already mentally celebrating his victory.
But then...
The grin on his face began to fade.
Then it stiffened.
And finally twisted into a frown.
Because the standoff between the beams... didn't last.
Alex's heat vision began to overpower X-11's.
Little by little, Deadpool's beam was being pushed back—eaten away by Alex's overwhelming power.
Shorter... weaker... gone.
Zzzzt!
Alex's beam blasted right through and struck X-11 square in the face.
Deadpool's body jolted violently and was flung backward, crashing hard into the floor.
If not for the Adamantium skeleton, that would've been a clean decapitation.
Even so, the flesh on his head had been vaporized, exposing gleaming Adamantium beneath.
And yet...
Regeneration kicked in.
Within seconds, his skull was whole again—good as new.
---
Whoosh!
Suddenly, Deadpool vanished in a blur of teleportation.
Just as expected.
Stryker wasn't dumb. That frontal assault hadn't worked—so now he was playing it like a stealth assassin.
But unfortunately—
That wouldn't work either.
---
In a flash, Deadpool reappeared behind Alex, Adamantium blade in hand, lunging straight for the kill.
But Alex didn't even turn around. As if he'd already predicted the ambush, his hand shot out like lightning and clamped around Deadpool's throat mid-attack.
Before he could twist it off—
Poof!
Gone again.
Another teleport.
---
This teleportation ability was even more refined than Azazel's.
Azazel, the red demon mutant, could be stopped if someone grabbed him during the jump. Beast had used that trick before.
But this version?
Not even a grip could prevent it.
That made things... slightly more troublesome.
Alex would have to kill him instantly in a single hit.
Still—not a big deal.
Just slightly annoying.
---
"Yes! Perfect!"
Stryker was practically bouncing with excitement.
If Alex couldn't land a killing blow, then Deadpool could outlast him.
With teleportation and regeneration working in tandem, Deadpool was untouchable.
An immortal assassin.
Unbeatable.
---
As Stryker grinned at the monitor, he noticed something strange.
Alex's figure had just... flickered.
The feed glitched?
No matter. The surveillance system was old, glitches happened all the time.
Stryker refocused and barked more commands into the mic.
"Go! Attack again! Don't give him a moment to breathe!"
---
Whoosh!
Deadpool reappeared beside Alex, Adamantium sword raised once more, stabbing hard.
Stryker grinned wide.
Eventually, one of these would land. And just one hit was all it would take.
That's Adamantium, baby.
Unbreakable. Unstoppable.
But—
What Stryker didn't know was that flicker earlier?
It wasn't a glitch.
It was Alex moving at supersonic speed.
In that instant, he'd zipped into the lab and retrieved a weapon of his own—an Adamantium blade forged right there in Stryker's facility.
The moment Deadpool appeared again—
SLASH!
A silver flash cut through the air.
And in one clean sweep—Deadpool's head flew off.
Thud!
The head bounced like a rubber ball into the distance, while the body collapsed limply to the ground.
---
"What now? Can't regenerate without that, can you?"
Alex glanced at the now headless corpse and casually tossed the blade aside.
That's right—what Stryker had mistaken for a camera glitch was Alex moving so fast, he'd looted the lab mid-fight.
This base was littered with Adamantium weapons.
Stryker had handed him the means to win—on a silver platter.
Alex clapped his hands once, like he'd just taken out the trash.
Then looked straight into the camera.
His gaze like a blade, as if he could see Stryker through the lens.
"This is your ultimate weapon?"
"Pathetic."
