After Dapper left, a large shadow suddenly formed beside Dora, and from within it, Deegan emerged with a wide, elated grin on his face.
"Hahaha, I taught those brats a good lesson. Unfortunately, most of them chose to become foot soldiers instead of getting punished," Deegan said, rubbing his face before tapping Dora, who had pretended not to notice him the whole time.
"Where's that boy I took interest in? How could he disappear so quickly?" Deegan asked, scanning the crowd.
"Ugh, stop bothering me, you idiot. How should I know? I have no idea!" Dora snapped, scowling as she shouted in his face.
Deegan let out a sigh and told her not to worry. Though Dora claimed ignorance, she knew exactly who he was talking about—Dapper had just left. But she wasn't about to hand him over so easily. With Deegan being as busy as he was, she figured he wouldn't have time to track the boy down. That would give her disciple enough of a head start in their unspoken competition.
