Chapter 60 - Chapter 060 Oh~ She doesn't have a boyfriend! Then never mind!

"Rain pattered against the window. It had been raining nonstop for three days and three nights, just like you, my beloved one, who still hasn't come home even after three days and three nights..."

Kei Yamanaka cheerfully hummed an impromptu rendition of 'The Rain Still Falls' while walking briskly toward the Yamanaka Clan compound.

"You're singing such a heart-wrenching song so cheerfully on purpose—just to mess with me, aren't you!"

Tsunade smacked Kei's arm in irritation—again.

This kid had zero sense of timing. Couldn't he see she was trying to focus?

"...You wouldn't understand. It's a side-job tune."

Rubbing his arm where Tsunade had slapped him, Kei silently cursed—damn, that woman could pack a punch.

If anyone ever tried cheating on her, one punch to the chest would probably launch them straight to the ER.

Oh~ She doesn't have a boyfriend!

Then never mind!

"A side job? You play songs like that at your barbecue restaurant? Don't interrupt my thinking."

Tsunade shot Kei a sidelong glance, too fed up with his nonsense to even bother responding properly.

After grabbing half the umbrella space for herself, she resumed biting her thumb while going over those medical reports that felt off earlier.

"Biting your nails is bad for your health."

"Do you heal fast?"

A throbbing vein popped out on Tsunade's forehead as she glared daggers at Kei through clenched teeth.

How many times was this now?

Why was it so hard for her to concentrate?

"Something on your mind? Want to talk about it? I can help you think it through."

Kei didn't take Tsunade's threat seriously at all.

Yeah right.

What kind of strength does he have now?

Sure, messing around was normal, but if Tsunade actually decided to get serious, he'd knock her flat in a second.

Did she really think [Zero-Frames Start] was just for show?

"...Something about the rejection reaction in Danzo's medical report feels seriously off. Do you even know what a rejection response is?"

Tsunade shot Kei another fierce glare.

Her Medical Ninjutsu was unmatched in Konoha—no one dared claim to be better than her.

Though the fluctuations in the medical data were slight, there was definitely some level of immune rejection present.

According to the case report, the minor rejection symptoms were supposedly caused by an artificial eye implant performed years ago to prevent facial deformation after Danzo's right eye was destroyed.

At first glance, everything looked perfectly reasonable, with no glaring issues in the data. Still, Tsunade couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was off.

So she kept reviewing the numbers in her head, hoping to pinpoint exactly what didn't fit.

"No Uchiha bloodline, yet he implanted a Sharingan. How could there be absolutely no rejection at all?"

Kei snorted lightly, casually exposing Danzo's secret without hesitation.

Danzo had definitely been careful.

The bandages wrapped around his head contained specially crafted Sealing Formulae meant to conceal the Sharingan's unique chakra signature.

To avoid raising suspicion during treatment, he'd even removed the Sharingan before meeting Tsunade this time.

Plus, back in Konoha, he'd never used the Sharingan in front of anyone, so no one would ever suspect something like that.

For many years, this secret remained undetected.

But the signs of rejection don't lie.

Even Kakashi, despite his immense talent, awakened the Mangekyō, yet couldn't freely activate or deactivate the Sharingan because of rejection symptoms. That's why he always ran out of chakra during battles, right?

"Sharingan? You… you're sure?"

Tsunade's pupils constricted, her whole body trembling slightly as she stared at Kei Yamanaka beside her in disbelief.

Danzō? The Sharingan?!

Where did he get it from?

How was that even possible?

Wouldn't he be afraid of facing the wrath of the Uchiha once exposed? How dare he do this?

"Don't look at me like that. He had it removed early specifically for you to examine and treat him. Who knew you'd only glance through the medical records and test reports without doing a proper examination? He went through all that for nothing."

A wider grin crept across Kei Yamanaka's face.

No matter whether Danzō used anesthesia when removing the eye, there must have been pain during recovery, right?

His physical injuries were nearly healed—wouldn't he eventually have to put that cursed thing back in?

Endure all that suffering back and forth!

Why can't I wipe this smirk off my face?

"You're serious?"

Tsunade still hadn't recovered from her shock and asked again.

"Believe it or not."

Kei Yamanaka had no intention of explaining further.

He hated explaining things like this to others anyway—it was unlikely they'd believe it no matter what.

Even if he publicly exposed Danzō, what would it accomplish?

The Uchiha's hawkish faction might be fierce, but the dove faction held real power now—and most of the clan leaned dove.

Without enduring the discrimination during the Third Great Ninja War, without being marginalized after the Nine-Tails incident, without constant rumors swirling around the village, and without continual unfair treatment, the Uchiha might want to reclaim that one three-comma Sharingan, but there was no way they'd choose complete conflict with Danzō, one of Konoha's leadership.

Considering Danzō's current status in the village, it was far more likely they'd come up with a plausible-sounding excuse like,

"This was the eye entrusted to me by my late dear friend Kagami Uchiha—to protect Konoha."

And maybe some backroom deals or unspoken agreements between the Third and Danzō, then the whole issue would simply blow over.

"That damned old bastard Danzō—why won't he just crawl into a hole and die already?!"

Tsunade spat out a furious curse.

She almost turned around to beat Danzō within an inch of his life.

But she understood—he already had the Sharingan removed.

Without solid evidence, there was nothing she could do to him.

Besides, Root wouldn't sit idle if their leader came under attack either, and the Third Hokage definitely wouldn't ignore it either.

Root was manageable, but the Third Hokage… she couldn't beat him!

Damn it!

"C'mon now, walk properly! Why keep glancing at my feet like that? If you need someone to vent on, pick Jiraiya!"

Kei Yamanaka gave Tsunade an annoyed side-eye as he felt her increasingly dangerous gaze fixed upon him.

Why should he bear the brunt of Danzō's mess?

"Who'd want to see that pervert?! After checking out my chest so many times, you really think I can't get a bit of payback now?!"

Smack!

A crushing stomp shattered the ground like a spiderweb.

Kei Yamanaka's left foot exploded into mist upon impact.

Too bad—neither plain taijutsu nor Tsunade's legendary chakra-enhanced strength could damage the Hydrification Technique.

The next moment, Kei had already fully regenerated his left leg using the pouring rain.

Under these conditions, unless someone unleashed a wide-area Lightning Release technique, few ninjas could harm him in his water-like form.

"Sister, when have I ever sneaked a peek? Keep saying that and I'll sue you for defamation!"

"Still not admitting it?"

"Admit what? I looked openly! There's nothing wrong with appreciating beauty."

"Pfft~Save your flattery for Kushina. You're not fooling me—you're still too young!"

Tsunade rained down a flurry of punches, splashing water everywhere.

Kei didn't even bother dodging, letting the storm of fists crash onto him as he mused inwardly—this Hydrification Technique was truly exceptional.

Being immune to physical attacks was impressive enough, but even his clothing transformed into water along with his body.

Besides, who says flattery doesn't work?

Her punches clearly lacked power compared to that earlier kick!

Heh~Typical women!

"Phew~Time to head home for dinner!"

After releasing her frustration and getting her fill of beating him up, Tsunade turned around and started walking toward the Yamanaka Clan compound.

That's MY house, damn it!

Kei nearly choked on those words but held himself back.

After a brief hesitation, he muttered a taunt under his breath.

Her family registry only had one blank page left, after all.
