Chapter 15 - Chapter 15  Greater Legacy

 Chapter 15 Greater Legacy

After a peaceful night of sleep, Arthur woke up feeling rested and clear-headed. The morning sun was just beginning to rise, and soft light spilled through the windows. He got up, dressed, and walked to the dining table where Gray, Leo, and Ur were already sitting and eating breakfast. There was a quiet energy at the table. Though everyone was eating, their minds were elsewhere. The weight of the upcoming separation was hanging in the air.

As they finished their meal, they stood and began to prepare for the journey. Leo and Gray packed their things and walked over to Ur. The goodbye was quiet but emotional. Leo and Gray each gave Ur a firm hug. Their eyes said what words couldn't — they were grateful, they were hopeful, and they were worried.

Arthur stepped forward and faced Ur directly.

"Ur," Arthur said calmly, looking her in the eyes. "My guild master is one of the Ten Wizard Saints. If you manage to gather any evidence or clues about the dark guild and the research institute… if you can find the location of that guild, I can speak with my master. With the right information, he can contact the Magic Council and push for the unification of the guilds in a crusade against that dark organization."

Ur looked at Arthur, taking in every word.

Arthur's expression became more serious.

"But when you find them," he continued, "please don't act impulsively. Your daughter might still be alive. And if she is, she's going to need her mother. Alive. Not dead."

Ur's lips tightened into a line. She nodded slowly. "You're right. I'll be careful. And if I learn anything, I'll come to find you immediately."

Arthur gave a firm nod of approval. He then turned to Leo and Gray. "It's time."

The three of them left the house and started their journey. For two full days, they traveled through forests, crossed small rivers, and passed through quiet villages. The air was fresh, and the sky remained clear for most of the journey. But despite the peaceful scenery, none of them felt entirely at ease. Each one was deep in thought.

Arthur reflected on everything that had happened — Deolara's death, the truth about Ur's daughter, the possibilities of dark experiments and manipulation, and his own growing powers. Gray thought about his promise to Ur and what kind of mage he wanted to become. Leo remained quiet, but his determination was clear in his eyes.

When they finally arrived at the Fairy Tail guild, Arthur didn't waste time. He led Gray and Leo straight to the master of the guild and explained the situation.

"These two," Arthur began, "are good kids. They've been through a lot, and they want to get stronger. They're looking for a place where they can grow, protect others, and maybe, someday, help Ur find her daughter."

The guild master listened quietly. He looked at Gray and Leo with a steady gaze. After a long pause, he nodded.

"They're welcome here," the master said. "We'll help them find their path."

Arthur thanked him sincerely. With that taken care of, Arthur went to find Erza and Mira. He sat with them and shared what had happened during his mission. He told them about the dark guild, the Northern Research Institute, the suspicions about the experiments, and how Ur believed her daughter might still be alive. He explained how the enemy might be trying to manipulate her emotions by making it look like she had been abandoned.

Erza listened in silence, her eyes narrowing with focus and concern. Mira placed a hand on Arthur's shoulder.

"You did the right thing," Mira said softly. "But this isn't over yet."

Arthur nodded. "Not by a long shot."

As evening fell, everyone headed home. Erza and Arthur walked together, and once they arrived, they lay down to rest. As always, Arthur found comfort in her presence. They lay in bed, her head resting on his chest, their breathing synchronized.

He soon fell asleep.

But in the middle of the night, Arthur's eyes opened. The room was dark and silent. He sat up in bed, careful not to wake Erza, and looked around.

"It's time to go home," he whispered to himself.

Arthur stood and summoned his spatial power. With a wave of his hand, he opened a dimensional portal — not just any portal, but the one that led back to his world. The small vortex shimmered with energy, swirling slowly in front of him. He stepped through it.

When he emerged on the other side, he was home. Everything was quiet. He looked around and saw the familiar walls of his house. The window was slightly open, letting in the cool breeze of the night. Arthur walked over to it and looked outside.

The entire farm was still dark. Not a single light was on. The land was silent, asleep.

"So… it's still night here too," Arthur said quietly to himself.

He turned around, feeling the familiar comfort of his home settle over him. Despite everything going on in the other world, this place gave him a sense of peace. He walked slowly back to his room, climbed into his bed, and lay down again.

As he pulled the blanket over himself, his thoughts began to wander. About Ur. About Gray and Leo. About his responsibilities. But also about his powers, and the plans he had begun to form.

If he could choose the world his dimensional gate opened to... the possibilities were endless.

But that was a thought for another day.

Right now, he just wanted to rest. With one last deep breath, Arthur closed his eyes and let himself drift off into sleep once
