Chapter 8 - Chapter 008: Temper Getting Bigger

Sophie Wilson's cheeks blushed slightly. In the entire world, is Charles Seymour the only one who can make sweet talk sound so terrifying?

What exactly in his brain is wired wrong?

Suppressing the flutter in her heart, Sophie Wilson helplessly muttered to herself.

"Alright." Sophie Wilson opened her hands nonchalantly, "Then our deal is done, I need to get to work."

Charles Seymour nodded and turned to go upstairs.

Sophie Wilson wasn't bothered at all by his moody, sulky attitude; she'd experienced it in her past life. She turned around indifferently, changed her shoes, and left to catch the subway.

Just as she reached the subway station, her phone suddenly rang. Seeing the familiar string of numbers, Sophie Wilson answered with confusion, "Hello?"

The repressed anger blasted out from the other side, almost blowing Sophie Wilson into pieces, "Where are you?"

"At the subway station." Sophie Wilson blankly held the phone up to her eyes, checking it. What's gotten into him again?

"You're taking the subway to work?" Even over the phone, Sophie Wilson could hear the restrained grinding of teeth.

Sophie Wilson asked curiously, "What else would I do?"

Then, with a loud clunk, the call was hung up.

Sophie Wilson scratched her head, looking at her phone with bewilderment.

What was up with him again?

Inside the villa, dressed in a suit and tie with his hair meticulously styled with gel, the elite-looking Charles Seymour angrily threw the car keys onto the entrance cabinet.

He kicked off his polished shoes and stomped back into the house in his slippers.

All the maids in the house huddled in the corners, trembling, wondering why their master's temper was getting worse.

Slumping into the spacious, comfortable office chair in the study, Charles tapped his slender fingers irritably on the wooden desk, his cold eyes occasionally glancing at the clock on the wall.

Finally, he picked up the phone beside him, pressing the button forcefully, listening to the monotonous tone, waiting for the call to connect.

"Hello, why are you calling again?" Sophie Wilson was heading towards the elevator in the office building. It was already past work hours, with no one else inside the building except the security guard at the door.

After she spoke, there was silence on the other end of the line.

Sophie Wilson curiously brought the phone in front of her, took a look, it wasn't disconnected, and the signal was good.

Then why isn't he speaking?

Suddenly, an answer flashed quickly through her mind, thinking of how much he cared about her in her previous life.

Sophie Wilson's lips curved up happily, "I arrived at the company safely, don't worry..."

"I thought you wouldn't dare to run." With that, the call was abruptly hung up again.

Sophie Wilson cursed at her phone, "Will it kill you to not be so uptight?"

After cursing, she couldn't help but chuckle first.

Charles Seymour's role wasn't misplaced; the two of them were, after all, in a creditor and debtor relationship.

He's a big villain borrowing high-interest loans to acquire experiment subjects, so of course he has to be fierce.

Since he likes to act, she'll just act along with him.

She might as well slowly explore their relationship further and find out why he has such profound feelings for her.

Taking a deep breath, Sophie Wilson walked into the company with her head held high.

It was long past working hours. The receptionist at the front desk didn't know what to say when she saw her but could only smile awkwardly at her.

Sophie Wilson returned the smile confidently, and in that instant, excited shouts erupted from behind her, letting half the office know she was late, "Sophie, why are you arriving at this time?"
