The flames flickered in the distance as Seraphina stood at the edge of the battlefield, her long dark hair dancing in the wind like shadows caught in a storm. She had never seen such destruction—bodies of both demons and angels lay strewn across the scorched earth, their blood soaking the soil in shades of crimson and gold.
Her once pristine white armor was now stained with ash and blood, but her spirit remained unshaken. With Lucian by her side, she had tasted power and pain in equal measure. The weight of her destiny pressed upon her shoulders like an invisible crown.
"They won't stop," Lucian murmured, his voice gravelly and low. He looked at the horizon where more dark clouds gathered. The armies of heaven and hell were preparing for the final war.
Seraphina clenched her fists. "Then we won't either. If this is our fate, let it be carved into the stars."
Lucian turned to her. For a moment, the Devil's cold eyes softened. "You've changed, Seraphina."
She met his gaze without flinching. "So have you."
Before he could answer, a cry shattered the air. A massive winged creature descended, its eyes glowing with celestial light. It was Seraphiel—once Seraphina's mentor, now her greatest enemy.
"Lucian," Seraphiel roared, his voice echoing like thunder. "Return the girl. She belongs to the heavens."
Lucian stepped forward, placing himself between Seraphina and the glowing figure. "She belongs to no one. She chose her path."
Seraphina stepped forward too. "I made my choice, Seraphiel. I'm not yours to protect or control. I am the Devil's Bride… and together, we will rewrite fate."
A pulse of dark magic surged from her palms, clashing with the golden light of Seraphiel. The ground split beneath their feet as opposing forces battled for dominance.
Lightning crackled, shadows rose, and the heavens wept.
And in the heart of chaos, a love forbidden by realms continued to burn.
