The Devil's Bride
By Rapwizzy Debaron
Episode 69: Between Light and Ruin
Lucian remained rooted to the ground long after Seraphina had taken flight. Her parting words echoed louder than any war cry he had ever heard, louder than the silence that consumed the battlefield after the bloodshed ceased.
He had faced gods and demons, rewritten fates with his own hands—but never had he been more powerless than in that moment.
He knelt, pressing his palm to the blood-stained earth. A low hum pulsed beneath the ground, a whisper of something ancient. A storm was brewing, not just outside—but within the fabric of the realms.
Seraphina's awakening had triggered something.
Back in the floating sanctum of the Forgotten Temple, Seraphina hovered over a glowing mirror of celestial energy. Her wings had changed—what once gleamed pure white now shimmered with streaks of crimson. Her identity was unraveling at the seams.
"I'm not just light... nor am I just darkness," she whispered. "Then what am I?"
A low voice answered from the mirror.
"You are the convergence. The prophecy's heart. The war's flame."
The voice belonged to Eloria, the last priestess of the Starborn—a guardian of truths buried by both heaven and hell.
Eloria stepped from the shadows. "You were never meant to be just a bride, Seraphina. You were born to break the chains binding every soul caught between salvation and damnation. Your blood carries both wrath and mercy."
Seraphina's gaze sharpened. "Then teach me. I want to know everything. About my kind. About Lucian. About the war."
Eloria nodded. "You will be tested. Not just in battle—but in heart. You will face choices that could tear you in two. You will have to decide what kind of queen you want to be."
Back in the Underworld, Lucian stood before the ancient infernal council.
"She has awakened," he declared.
Gasps spread among the seven thrones.
"You let the Angelis blood survive?" growled Morok, a horned brute with molten eyes. "You fool! She will destroy us!"
Lucian's voice turned colder than ever. "Or she will rule beside me."
A stunned silence.
"You dare challenge the Old Pact?"
"I dare rewrite it," Lucian growled. "She's more than prophecy. She is balance."
At that moment, across the realms, something cracked—the veil between heaven, hell, and the mortal world. Creatures long thought extinct stirred. The skies rumbled. The earth split in places.
And far away, Seraphina felt it.
"The first seal has broken," Eloria said solemnly.
Seraphina turned to her, heart pounding. "Then we don't have much time."
