Chapter 63
"Magical Mayhem and the Golden Disaster"
---
Eliz Betham unleashed a cyclone of black magic from her palms, spinning like a deadly tornado across the battlefield. Her enemies didn't stand a chance—dozens of Arcane Demons were swallowed by the swirling death storm.
Ruke stood beside her, sword charged with thunder, clothes stained in dirt and demon blood.
"You never hold back," he muttered, ducking under a flying arm.
"I told you—I hate demons," Eliz replied, blasting a fireball through another one's face. "And they ruined my cloak."
A few meters away, Nolan stood on top of a giant boulder, flexing with both arms raised toward the sky.
"Fear not, civilians! For I—Nolan the Glorious Golden Mage—am here to light up the world!!"
A beam of sparkling gold magic blasted from his hands… directly into the sky.
Nothing happened.
Ruke stared. "What exactly did that do?"
Nolan grinned. "Mood lighting!"
Eliz groaned, "Can you please do something useful?"
"I am! I just summoned fifty golden pigeons! They distract the enemy while looking fabulous!"
Indeed, a flock of shiny golden pigeons flew by, flapping in random directions. A few demons paused, confused.
Eliz facepalmed. "This is ridiculous."
But suddenly, an Arcane Beast emerged—twice the size of the last, armored in obsidian plates and roaring like thunder.
"Uh-oh," Ruke muttered.
"I got this!" Nolan declared. "Time for my ultimate technique!"
Eliz yelled, "No, wait, don't—"
Nolan jumped into the air, summoned a Golden Rocket Kick… and crashed into the beast's back. His boot stuck.
He flailed. "I'M STUCK! I'M STUCK IN THE MONSTER!!"
The beast tried to shake him off. Ruke and Eliz exchanged a look, then sighed in sync.
Ruke bolted forward, slicing through the beast's legs with Thunder Edge. Sparks flew as the creature stumbled.
Eliz raised her arms high. "Black Cyclone Lance!"
A massive lance of dark energy slammed into the monster's side—right next to Nolan.
"AHH—so close to my face!!" he shouted as the beast roared, then collapsed under the combo assault.
Nolan stood on its back, arms up again.
"VICTORY POSE!!"
Ruke walked past. "You're unbelievable."
Eliz smirked. "He's lucky he's strong… and dumb."
"I heard that!" Nolan shouted. "And thank you!"
Just then, more demons surged from the ridge.
Ruke cracked his neck. "You two up for round three?"
Eliz's hands glowed. "Let's go."
Nolan held out a small dessert.
"First, snack break?"
Eliz blasted it out of his hand.
Nolan gasped, "My donut!! That was a golden donut!!"
They charged into battle—chaotic, deadly, and kind of ridiculous.
