Chapter 66 - THE DEMON KING HEART

Volume 2: Chapter 66

"Demon King's Heart"

The battlefield was silent.

All eyes watched the center of the stone arena where the Final Duel was to begin.

The Demon Lord—a towering figure cloaked in red-black flames—stood tall, a wicked grin across his face.

But it wasn't him the people were staring at.

It was Kenya Naro.

Lightning crackled. Fire shimmered from his body. But it was the change in his aura that shook everyone.

His eyes glowed crimson. Strange ancient tattoos spread across his arms. A crown of dark flame hovered faintly above his head.

The truth was undeniable.

He was a Demon Lord too.

Gasps erupted from both human soldiers and demons.

Ruke took a step back. Eliz clutched her staff in confusion. Lilia whispered:

> "No way… K-Kenya…?"

But Shen, barely standing with Ryulga's help, stepped forward. His body was weak, but his voice was strong.

> "Kenya…?"

Kenya didn't look back. He was shaking—not with power, but with shame.

> "Shen… I didn't want you to know. I thought… if you found out I was a demon… you'd hate me."

Silence.

Kenya clenched his fists. The fire around him flickered with his emotions.

> "I've always been hiding this. I thought I could just keep fighting beside you… as a human. But now—"

> "—Shut up," Shen said.

Kenya blinked.

Shen, despite his wounds, took a step forward.

> "Even if you're a demon. Even if you're a king. Even if your power scares the world… you're still my brother."

Shen's voice cracked.

> "I don't care what's in your blood. I know who you are."

Kenya's eyes widened.

> "You're my friend, Kenya. You always will be."

Kenya stared.

Then for the first time in his life—

Tears fell.

His knees dropped for a moment, overwhelmed by emotion. The fire turned soft.

Ruke looked stunned. Eliz wiped her eyes. Even Ryulga had a proud smirk.

The Demon Lord chuckled.

> "Touching. But can the 'brother' win a war?"

Kenya stood again.

> "We're not fighting for war," he said, wiping his tears.

> "We're fighting… for peace."

He rose to full height—his true Demon Lord Form now stable, elegant, powerful, and calm.

> "If I win… you surrender. No more blood. No more hate. Demons live beside humans. No killing."

The Demon Lord grinned.

> "And if I win?"

Kenya's eyes glowed brighter.

> "Then I die trying."

The duel began.

Fire clashed with darkness. Shockwaves shattered the arena. Fists broke sound barriers. Magic bent the sky.

The final punch—Kenya's Flame Fist of Judgement—crashed into the Demon Lord's chest, exploding into a burst of crimson and gold.

When the smoke cleared, the Demon Lord was on his knees.

Defeated.

Silence.

Then—

He smiled.

> "Heh… You're a real king."

The Demon Lord surrendered.

The demon army dropped their weapons.

The peace treaty was signed.

Kenya stood at the center of it all, breathing heavily, glowing softly.

Shen walked beside him, one arm in a sling, the other around his best friend's shoulder.

> "You did it, Kenya."

Kenya smiled.

> "We did."
