Chapter 65 - DRIFTERS DONT DIE EASY

Volume 2: Chapter 65

"Drifters Don't Die Easy"

---

The second demon army arrived like a tidal wave. Ten times larger. Heavier. Meaner.

But the four Drifters didn't step back.

They ran toward it.

Ruke's body sparked, lightning rippling from his fingertips to his feet. He zipped forward in blinding speed, his twin blades cutting the front line open like paper.

One demon shrieked—too late. Its head flew off.

> "Who's next?!" Ruke growled, eyes glowing.

Eliz followed behind, floating in the sky like a goddess of destruction. Her eyes flashed, summoning Dark Flare Cannons that fired down like black comets, obliterating a dozen demons at once.

> "Focus fire! Push their left flank!" she yelled.

Lilia calmly floated beside her, staff spinning. She whispered an incantation—

> "Holy Wave."

A blinding wall of light crashed down, vaporizing demons and healing the wounds of her team below. Blood faded from Ruke's face. Nolan's broken wrist clicked back in place.

> "You're my favorite person now," Nolan muttered, then grinned. "Let's go nuts!"

He leapt into the air and crashed into a demon general like a meteor.

> BOOOOM!!

When the dust cleared, Nolan stood with glowing golden knuckles, blood dripping from his coat.

"Who's got two thumbs and just made you extinct?" he asked the dead body. "This guy."

Suddenly a trio of flying demons launched spears toward Lilia.

She didn't flinch.

> PING! PING! PING!

All three spears bounced off a holy shield she conjured in one breath. She turned, launched a laser beam from her staff, and took out all three attackers without blinking.

Eliz side-eyed her. "Still not overpowered, huh?"

Lilia replied calmly. "You're just under-trained."

Ruke laughed while slicing through a demon's ribcage. "That's the kind of banter I like during a massacre."

One massive demon beast broke through and charged Eliz with a roar.

Too slow.

She blinked behind it and unleashed Dark Spiral Rupture at point-blank range. It exploded from the inside out.

Bits rained down on Nolan.

He licked his finger and tasted the blood.

"…Tastes like chicken."

> "STOP THAT!!" Eliz shouted mid-air.

The four regrouped in the center of the battlefield, backs together, facing the shrinking army.

Ruke smirked. "Think we've scared them yet?"

Lilia narrowed her eyes. "They're hesitating."

Nolan cracked his knuckles. "Let's give 'em a reason to run."

Eliz raised her staff. "One last strike?"

They nodded together.

The air lit up—light, shadow, electricity, and golden glow swirling around them.

> "DRIFTER QUAD STRIKE!!" Nolan yelled, even though no one agreed on the name.

Their attacks launched at once—ripping the remaining army to shreds.

Silence fell.

The battlefield was a graveyard of steaming bodies.

And the four stood tall, bloodied, bruised… and smiling.

> "Drifters don't die easy," Ruke whispered.

Nolan patted him on the back. "And we look good doing it."

Eliz groaned. "Don't ruin the moment."

Lilia cleaned blood off her book with magic. "Too late."

They laughed together.

And walked forward—toward the next storm.
