Chapter 1 - The Bloodborne

Within the chasms of the Dark City and the outskirts, there laid a rumour of the ultimate hunter. The one who made the beasts cower in fear, a being so savage that the Nightmare Creatures feared him.

Gunlaug tried hard to recruit him to his ranks, when he couldn't. He sent his most terrifying weapon, Harus the Butcher, the untouchable. But unlike before, when Harus returned his body was gruesomely disfigured. His fingers were severed and one of his eyes turned bliss white.

The survivors thought that it must've been a dreadful fight that Harus won, but then the news leaked—Harus had lost awfully with him being tortured and broken.

Thus, the untouchable got touched.

[A/N - It's not on purpose, trust.]

"...."

In one of the corridors of the Dark City, the sound of steel and blood erupted. Rivers of blood collapsed and converged around a bestial creature. The torrent originated from a body, he wore a blood coloured tidal wave as his robe as his eyes gleamed crimson.

His hands which were clenched slowly relaxed, as a crimson current spewed out and wrapped around his hand. In an instant, a black colored, reddish black bubbling scythe manifested in his hands, it gave off a sinister and dark aura.

The boy let out a loud roar causing his blood colored robe to flare up.

The sea of blood twisted and turned as it flooded the poor creature, it shackled the creature down as the robed boy sped towards him, in an instant his scythe spun around as it clearly slashed through the creature's skin.

[You have slain a Awakened Demon, Minion of Corruption]

[Your Blood grows stronger.]

The boy smiled, 'That's almost 6 Fragments. Finally! I wonder what new power I'm going to get.'

A moment later, he felt a weird feeling arise from his chest. It felt scalding hot, the boy collapsed in pain as let out a deep guttural roar.

[Your Blood is overflowing with Power]

The sweet voice of the Spell rang out, but it did nothing to soothe his pain.

[Your Blood is taking shape]

The boy fell to his knees and clutched the ground, his eyes dilated as he lost focus, 'Fuck! If I pass out now, I'm basically prey to all the monsters hanging out here.'

He screamed out in his mind, as the expanding mass of heat reached the critical point and then suddenly exploded. He felt as though his core was being torn apart, as he drowned in indescribable pain.

As the boy convulsed into the ground, the Spell whispered

[Your Blood is complete]

His chest was still full of ethereal heat, but there was also something else. Some kind of… interference? He was having trouble finding words to describe that sensation, but knew that it wasn't harmful. At least not immediately.

The boy looked at his runes with a bit of eagerness.

Sam's eyes widened as he looked at his runes, 'My path of progression is completely different from other Awakened. I climb the path of corruption I think?' He thought with uncertainty.

Sam's Aspect also made him completely different from most Awakened. His Aspect made him a mix of a vampire, wolf and a warlock or witch for the illiterate.

His body had transmuted and thus his physiology was changed. He was now completely dependent on blood, human blood to be precise, while animal and Nightmare Creature blood would work, they wouldn't provide the strength he got from human blood.

If he was starved of blood, instead of dying he would dessicate and turn immobile. Until he was supplied blood, which would revive him. Sam had tested this out in the Academy and it wasn't a pretty sight to see, to say the least.

The next part of his ability made him functionally immortal, he wouldn't age, no matter how many years passed. The more he aged, the stronger He grew. Alas, he would forever remain 17, he had to admit it was a pain. He wouldn't be able to drink alcohol and sorts, but that's where the next part of his ability came into play.

He could compel any creature to obey his command, by meeting their eyes he could make any creature subservient to him as long as he issued the right command.

His body too had been supernaturally strengthened with him becoming faster and stronger than ever before. His body had also transformed in a way that his true face, which included red, blood-shot sclera with protruding veins around the eyes, as well as elongated fangs could tear any normal human apart with ease.

The Spell also had the courtesy of imparting the rest of the knowledge to him. He was immune to the majority of human diseases and illnesses and had accelerated hearing, being able to regenerate a snapped neck within an hour.

He was sadly turned sterile because of his Aspect, he wouldn't be able to bear children, 'Such a shame, I kind of liked that idea.' Sam whispered in his mind with a bit of pain.

His blood also possessed potent healing abilities, consuming it would make a human recover from near fatal injuries. These abilities made him essentially immortal, but he wasn't truly immortal.

While he wouldn't die from aging and disease, he could die if one impaled him in his heart with a wooden stake. He would also die if someone decapitated or if someone ripped out his heart.

Other than that, nothing could hurt him.

Sam soon decided to leave and walked towards his temporary shelter, his scythe was dragged on the ground, occasionally making sounds before Sam dispelled it.

The blood soon returned back to an ornate glass bottle kept in his trench coat. That blood wasn't ordinary blood, no it was blood from before he was turned into a vampire or well tribrid.

The Spell had once told him that the blood from an original before they transformed into a vampire, held untold powers.

And again the Spell turned out right, as his blood which was shifted into a scythe was stronger than a Dormant memory of the sixth tier and equal in strength to an Awakened memory of the second tier.

Sam hoped to meet one of Weaver's followers during his Nightmare and make him forge his blood into a memory, so that he could strengthen it.

'Weaver's followers huh? I heard about them in my First Nightmare, they're hiding out somewhere near the Underworld according to my sources. I got to pay them a visit.'

Sam said with a glee before his eyes turned dark, 'I wonder how they're doing? I hope it isn't as bad as me, I'll come back Rebakah, Kol, give me some more time.'

At that moment, a bright pillar of light illuminated the dark sky. Sam's eyes turned predatory as he looked up at the sky, 'What the fuck is that.' He silently exclaimed in his mind.
