đź“– Whispers of the Moon

Episode 38: The Prophecy Within
The world outside the shrine had changed.
The moon above was fuller than before, almost unnaturally so. Its silver light felt heavy on their skin—as if watching.
Juvia sat beside Ha-jun, both still catching their breath after the battle with Kaelith. The temple behind them now lay in ruins, the lingering traces of shadow magic slowly fading into the air.
"Why didn't it end?" Juvia asked softly, watching the light shimmer on her palm where the Moonblade had vanished.
Ha-jun didn't answer right away.
He was staring at the sky, his eyes distant. "Because Kaelith wasn't the final curse. He was… a gatekeeper."
Juvia turned toward him, confused.
He reached into his cloak and pulled out a stone—no, a relic. Round. Glowing faintly. It had appeared when Kaelith died, dropped at the very center of the blast.
Strange markings swirled on its surface, pulsing in rhythm with the moonlight.
"What is that?" she whispered.
Ha-jun's voice was low. "A Lunar Sigil. A piece of the Moon's Will. It… it speaks to me."
Juvia touched it—and in that moment, they were both pulled into a vision.
A floating kingdom cloaked in twilight. A dark throne.
A queen with hair like falling stars.
Blood on moonstone steps. Screams.
And a girl's voice—Juvia's voice—crying out:
'He's the last key. If he dies, the moon dies with him.'
The vision shattered.
They gasped, jolting back into reality.
Juvia's heart raced. "What did we just see?"
Ha-jun's hands trembled around the sigil. "A memory… or a prophecy."
Suddenly, a quiet cough interrupted them.
They turned.
A boy stood at the edge of the forest, wrapped in a white cloak. His eyes glowed violet, unnaturally bright, and a crescent-shaped scar curved beneath one eye.
"I was wondering how long it would take to find you," he said with a wry smile. "You've broken the seal, Moonbonded. Now the real chase begins."
Ha-jun rose instantly, shielding Juvia.
"Who are you?" he demanded.
The boy chuckled. "Names are dangerous when spoken under moonlight. But you can call me Lysian."
He raised his hand, and instantly, the air thickened with pressure.
Juvia couldn't breathe.
Ha-jun charged at him, sword drawn, but Lysian flicked two fingers and Ha-jun crashed into the ground, pinned by invisible force.
"Don't bother," Lysian said calmly. "I'm not here to fight. Not yet."
Juvia struggled to her feet. "Then what do you want?"
He looked at her with something like pity. "To warn you. The curse didn't begin with Kaelith. It began with the First Moonfall. And your blood… both of you… are part of the prophecy that will either end it or doom us all."
The sigil in Ha-jun's hand burned brighter.
Lysian's cloak fluttered in the wind. "Find the other Sigils. Before she does."
"She?" Juvia asked.
But Lysian was already vanishing into the wind, his body dissipating into a flock of pale-white crows.
Only his voice lingered.
"The Moon Queen stirs. And if she rises… even fate will fall."
