Aries landed inside and hit a hard wooden floor face first. He grumbled and picked his face up, a few of the other contestants were staring at him. Before they looked away and returned to what they were doing. He stood up and wiped some dust off his face. He sighed before walking through the room. There were at least 100 people there. But the stronger ones stood out clearly from the lesser ones.
All of the visibly weaker people held a lot less noticeable features, while the stronger ones had more noticeable ones. Like their height, stature in general, or just some kind of odd trait. Like Aries's red hair. The man's shark like teeth. Stuff like that. He recognized one of the contenders. It was the woman he had ran into a few weeks before. On that odd day. He could tell she was strong. Her violet eyes were unique. Entrancing. And whenever he looked her way, he felt like he was freezing up.
The ones that were really strong had some kind of aura, some stronger than others obviously. But it seemed like he was the only one that could visualize it. In the girls he saw frost. In another man's he saw violent blood like aura spewing everywhere around him. In a man he saw lightning, and in a man he saw nothing but sheer power. He was disappointed. Out of the 100 people. Only about 4 or 5 were very strong. Potentially stronger than he was at least. Suddenly the screen in the room flickered on and showed Gray sitting a plastic chair. A white haired lady dressed formally standing behind him.
"Greetings, contestants! Welcome to the Lord's Advent! Today we will find the strongest human in the whole world!"
The room remained silent.
"Hmph, not as excited as I thought…" Grey sighed before continuing. "Anyways, the first round of the tournament will be a free for all. Until 20 of you remain. Then it will be split into two brackets, 5 fights each. One on ones. Old fashioned style."
The screen shut off once again and the doors opened. By the time the contestants were running out about 10 of the weak ones were already flung around and into the crowd. The crowd cheered. Loudly. Aries stood off to the side. A muscular guy charged towards him. Looking to pick him off as easy bait. Aries dodged a swing before ducking under him and kicking him clean into the upper stands. A few of the weaker guys tried to team up on him. But he quickly tore through them.
"Tch…bunch of small fries…"
He observed the girl fighting. She used her hands and some kind of magic. Ice spikes appeared out of the ground and froze the people attacking her. She made it look incredibly easy. Before she locked eyes with Aries. And shot a frost bolt at him.
"Shit."
He tried to hit it away with a kick. But it stuck to his foot and froze it completely. He smashed it off with his other foot and leaped upward. He landed in front of her.
'Huh?' She thought in her head while observing him. She quickly prepared a wave of ice around her, but he kicked in front of her and missed. A large gust of air generated by it. 'Huh? He missed?' She tried to finish her spell but found herself unable to. The gust had thrown herself off so heavily she wasn't able to finish her spell. But right before he could land the finishing blow. The whistle was blowed as the competition was narrowed down to 20 people.
"Congratulations! On advancing past the free for all stage!"
